We are seeking an ECG Technician to:


  • Perform electrocardiographic (ECG) tests, including application of various arrhythmia monitors and electrocardiographic stress testing.

  • Educate patients on testing procedures.

  • Properly position patients, electrode application, and judge the quality of ECG tracings.

  • Facilitate stress testing under the supervision of cardiologist, APP, or clinical exercise physiologist.

Education:

Minimum - High School degree or equivalent.

Preferred – Technical or Associate’s Degree in Healthcare related field.

Work Experience:

Preferred – One (1) year of Electrocardiograph Technician experience.

Licenses and Certifications:

Minimum - CPR certification.

Preferred – CCT, CRAT, or equivalent.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:


  • Ability to perform all required function of the ECG cards, rhythm monitor devices, stress testing system, and ECG interpretation software.

  • Knowledge of the psychosocial needs of patients and families.

  • Ability to work with and maintain confidential patient information.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to document and communicate accurate patient observations, care and outcomes of care.

  • Ability to triage multiple patient care or equipment related issues.

  • Strong problem-solving skills dealing with technical and interpersonal issues.

  • Ability to work in a team environmental and to collaborate with a variety of staff members in a positive manner.

  • Knowledge of effective customer relations and ability to provide positive, supportive interactions with patients and staff.

  • Ability to operate a computer.

  • Demonstrates a high degree of professionalism.

Physical Requirements:

Medium : Ability to lift up to 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

Work Schedule

This is a 60% FTE position, or scheduled for 24 hours per week, 8/12 hour night shifts from 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, with rotating weekends and holidays. Hours may vary depending on the operational needs of the department.
