About the role:

We are currently seeking a Sr. Manager of Learning and Development at our corporate headquarters in St. Louis, MO.

Reporting to the VP of Operations - HR this role will be responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of employee and leader development while ensuring alignment with business goals and strategies. This role will also identify and translate organizational needs into learning and development plans while promoting a culture of continuous learning that inspires increased performance.

Duties will include:


  • Creates and implements a global learning and development plan in alignment with the business goals and strategies
  • Builds and maintains collaborative and consultative relationships with global operational and technical leaders, subject matter experts to ensure the timely delivery of learning and development strategies and goals
  • Leverages appropriate resources to drive the design, development and delivery of learning solutions including technical and compliance training
  • Oversees evaluation of learning programs and initiatives to ensure effectiveness and a culture of continuous improvement
  • Identifies ways to leverage technology to deliver learning solutions to all employees
  • Champions and models thinking and behaviors aligned with Peabody development philosophies
  • Stays current on research and practices in learning and development; deepens expertise within the team and transfer practices to business and HR partners
  • Manages the learning and development team, oversees the allocation of work against goals, provides direction, conducts performance reviews, coaching and career development
  • Drafts and maintains learning and development budget

This position is a full-time role, working from our corporate headquarters in St. Louis, MO. Peabody offers flexible work policies, including hybrid office/home working arrangements and opportunity to finish at noon on Fridays.

About you:


  • Bachelors Degree in HR or Business Administration, with a concentration in Learning and Development, Organizational Development, Industrial Organizational Psychology or a related field
  • Must maintain a valid, current driver's license
  • 10+ years job related experience in a large multinational organization
  • Experience designing, developing and delivering learning content and / or leveraging the use of third parties to do so
  • Experience is managing and leveraging the use of technology for learning including a Learning Management System
  • Experience in partnering with leaders and other SMEs
  • A high level of interpersonal skills with group leadership ability.
  • Project management experience and supervisory skills

Physical Requirements:


  • Must have the ability to perform office related tasks which may include prolonged sitting or standing
  • Must have the ability to move from place to place within an office environment
  • Must be able to use a computer
  • Some positions may require occasional repetitive motion or movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
