The Executive Associate Director will be responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day operations and designated as a point of contact for the Center for Spatial Analysis (CSA). The Executive Associate Director will identify research and funding opportunities; draft and manage submission documents; manage CSA projects; and build strong, collaborative relationships with external partners. The associate director will also serve as a liaison with local, state, and regional partners to facilitate geospatial services and research.
Typical Functions May Include:
Project management for large interdisciplinary and diverse projects.
Liaise between CSA and local, state, and regional partners.
Identifying research and grant proposal funding opportunities, drafting proposal submission documents, reviewing documents for completeness, budget management and preparing reports for funded work.
Determining strategic directions and developing and managing partnerships with outside organizations, specifically focusing on state and local agencies that have geospatial support needs. This also includes developing and fostering relationships among CSA staff, various community leaders, government agencies, and other funding agencies.
Participating in appropriate committees and boards.
Supervision: Supervise and direct the efforts of administrative, technical and management staff. Direct day-to-day administrative aspects, including hiring, training, orientation, supervision, and evaluation. Participate in wage decisions, promotions, and employee relation issues. Review workloads and reassign tasks as required to ensure timely completion of projects or to take advantage of special capabilities of the personnel.
Required Education: Master's degree in Geography, Geospatial Technologies, or related field, or equivalent combination of education/job related experience, AND
24 months of operations or project management experience

Ability to manage and execute multiple tasks under deadlines
Ability to interact with University administration, faculty, staff, and students
Some experience with finance spreadsheets, cash flow management, and bookkeeping

Supervision:
Supervise 10-15 staff.
