Job Description:

East Cambridge Savings Bank’s Investment Services Department is actively recruiting for a Financial Advisor Sales Assistant.  


Function:

Under the general direction of the Investment Executive, coordinates and performs a variety of administrative and sales support activities related to the Financial Services function in conformance with established Bank objectives, policies, and procedures.


We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Three or more years experience working in the financial services field, preferably in an administrative capacity under the direction of a Financial Advisor.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or related field, or equivalent through specialized coursework and training.
  • Current series 63 license, Series 7 and Life Insurance license preferred.
  • Must be detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet individual sales goals on a Monthly/Annual basis.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Deals professionally, courteously and efficiently with the public and fellow employees, in accordance with East Cambridge Savings Bank’s Customer Service Standards, provides information on a variety of Investment and life insurance products.  Makes referrals as needed.
  • Assists existing financial services clients with questions on the telephone and in person.  Responds to existing client needs and concerns and schedules appointments with Investment Executive when necessary.  Becomes knowledgeable and understanding of the customers’ needs by conducting a needs analysis and forwarding assessment to Investment Executive. Provides referrals for investment products to existing and new customers toward established sales goals.  Responsible for follow-up contacts with clients including thank-you notes and additional paperwork requirements.  Ensures that mystery shop service standards are achieved.
  • Processes transactions for Investment Executive.  Reviews paperwork for accuracy, sends checks to brokerage clearing house, remits paperwork to Infinex and other financial service organizations as necessary.  Acts as a liaison between Infinex and Investment Executive.  Maintains inventory of sales material, keeps documents current, and reorders as necessary.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Financial Services Department.  Maintains daily schedule of the Investment Executive.  Schedules appointments with clients referred by Retail and other Departments.  Proactively contacts customers to discuss periodic account reviews and identify cross-selling opportunities.  
  • Maintains client files for financial services.  Sets up initial files and updates as necessary.  Keeps files in compliance for financial services audits.
  • Maintains client data base for tracking and follow-up.  Responsible for mailings to clients and telephone follow-ups.
  • Assists Banking Center employees with Financial Services and insurance related questions.  Coordinates and conducts employee training as needed.
  • Develops an annual sales plan in conjunction with the Investment Executive which identifies goals for growth and methods to attain these goals. Assists in the administration, development and implementation of Financial Services and insurance sales programs.  Works closely with Investment Executive to implement the sales strategy plan including both direct sales and referral activities.
  • Identifies cross-selling opportunities for ECSB client relationship expansion.  Works with Bank staff to identify sales opportunities, answer questions and provide investment services information.  Provides sales coaching in regards to investment products to Banking Center staff on site as needed.
  • Responsible for adhering to Bank policies and procedures related to regulatory compliance requirements applicable to the job functions. Keeps abreast of laws, regulations, and industry developments applicable to nondeposit products through ongoing training and education.  Updates internal procedures as applicable.
  • Meets assigned sales and service referral goals and objectives, based on the Bank’s promotional activities and through outreach to existing clients and prospects.
  • Prepares management reports on sales and service efforts and results.
  • Attends community events to promote ECSB nondeposit products, growth and development in the community, and a positive image for the Bank.
