This Dispatcher will coordinate and direct the movement of trucks and freight in order to make pickups and deliveries in an efficient and timely manner.
Key Accountabilities:
Daily and weekly scheduling for dispatching drivers
Load monitoring and updating systems
Equipment management, preventative maintenance, etc.
Participation in safety talks and safety training
Record and allocate all requests for delivery and pickup
Maintain radio and phone contact with trucks, receiving, and dispatch aid in response to any emergency needs for assistance or repairs
Communicate with all Drivers, customers, and suppliers in a professional and courteous manner
Cultivate strong relationships with drivers and customers to reduce the stress that comes with last minute schedule changes
Maintain written/computerized records and other forms of information
All other duties assigned by reporting Manager/Supervisor

Schedule drivers on pre designed runs
Update Ryder LMS system for GM on a 15 minute basis
Ensure drivers are signing in to the GeoTab system correctly
Update GM and Ryder as to when the drivers leave the suppliers and arrive at the plant
Contact maintenance vendors for breakdowns and regular service on equipment
Your profile
Minimum Requirements:
1-2 years administrative experience required
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Experience with MS Excel and Word
Prior experience/exposure to logistics or trucking operations
Knowledge of DOT regulations as they pertain to our trucking environment
Ability to work efficiently under pressure and at a fast pace
Good management skills in making driver assignments and developing cooperation among the team of drivers
Good knowledge of geographical area to facilitate efficient routing
Customer service background
Ability to multi-task
Ability to work in fast-paced work environments
Computer and Microsoft suite experience
Preferred Requirements:
Previous supervisory experience
Bachelor's degree in business, transportation, or related field of study
