Job Description:

Arcosa, Inc. is seeking an Applications Director in our Dallas, TX headquarters. Reporting to the Executive Director – Enterprise Applications, the Applications Director, will be responsible for the full application lifecycle and operational performance of order acquisition & Web application portfolios (CRM, CPQ, e-Commerce, .Net, websites) and custom apps. This includes the concept, planning, evaluation, development, integration, testing, deployment and support of application platforms and associated technologies. The role will also lead a team of analysts, programmers and other staff, both direct reports and dotted line assigned.

Responsibilities:



  • Guide Arcosa in transforming our order acquisition business processes and enabling technologies (Customer Relationship Management, Configure/Price/Quote, e-commerce portals) and our custom app and website portfolios (.Net, WordPress, Azure, Continuous Delivery & Integration) through deep functional and deployment expertise. This includes both customer facing capabilities as well as internal use and operations.

  • Identify the technology direction that would enable the business to achieve business goals more effectively within and across assigned application portfolio(s).   

  • Lead teams responsible for supporting, enhancing, evaluating and implementing applications and provide as a key point of contact for business partners.

  • Collaborate with senior solutions architects and as the subject matter expert within the application portfolio(s), providing technical direction and guidance, hands-on systems engineering design, and awareness of Arcosa application architectural standards.

  • Ensure solutions conform to established Arcosa security standards and requirements.

  • Act as a primary resource to corporate and business unit senior management in all matters concerning current systems and future technology needs.

  • Lead major incident recoveries, solution work arounds, restoration of services, and RCA and problem management activities.

  • Review and identify service trends and themes and communicate risks and proposed solutions to leadership.

  • Manage solution releases including maintaining CMDB currency.

  • Evaluate, select, and manage third party services and delivery organizations for applications and implementation of major systems, as well as the conversions from existing systems.

  • Manage the timely implementation of quality solutions aligned with the overall IT and business unit strategy including developing new systems, enhancing the functionality of existing systems and integrating new and existing applications to streamline business processes.

  • Coach and develop staff to maximize individual performance, build future organizational leadership, enhance teamwork, and strengthen support of the organization's values, tactics and strategies.

  • Additional duties as assigned by leadership.

 


Requirements:



  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field and/or equivalent work experience preferred

  • Minimum of 2 years of director level experience, systems development experience preferred

  • Minimum of 8 years of Software development experience and managing distributed software development teams

  • Program and project management expertise including the ability to concurrently handle multiple simultaneous complex projects

  • Demonstrated expertise is making technology selections in support of the application roadmap solution deployment plans

  • Proven excellence in customer satisfaction process, product quality, and reliability.

  • Proven experience working in Agile or Waterfall methodologies, to design, build, test, deploy, and support Enterprise applications

  • Demonstrated functional expert with order acquisition applications (CRM, CPQ, e-Commerce, Collaboration) and in in web and custom app technologies (.Net, WordPress, Domain & DNS management, SharePoint, etc.) including current and emerging best practices

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of applications architecture processes, design patterns, and standards

  • Demonstrated expertise constructing a value proposition or benefits case for solution proposal

  • Experience with automated testing methods and tools.

  • Strong understanding of and experience in systems integration methods including web services and API orchestration

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Detail oriented with strong adaptability and capacity to work in a fast-paced environment
