TK Elevator is currently seeking an experienced Senior Engineer - Supplier Quality in Germantown, TN.
The Sr. Supplier Quality Engineer for TK Elevator North America Supply Chain and Manufacturing is responsible for driving supplier development, product quality with primary focus on supplied components. This role will lead in the improvement of the comprehensive supplier quality program, which includes supplier QMS qualification & improvement, supplier strategy, supplier product quality, supplier audit, root cause analysis and 8D effectiveness, supplier quality scorecard and continuous improvements. This position directly impacts product life cycle management, procurement strategy, and part quality by implementing and maintaining a quality function partnership with geographically distributed business functions as well as internal and external customers and suppliers.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Conduct root cause analysis to develop corrective and preventive action plans. Manage the investigation of field failures regarding supplier products and make recommendations for corrective plans.
Drive issue resolution and continual improvement using TK Elevator North America Supply Chain and Manufacturing corrective action system and supplier systems.
Ensure timely response and action to ensure effectiveness of 8D that addresses root cause and eliminates reoccurrence.
Assure product compliance to purchasing specifications through supplier and engineering change order systems.
Deliver against quality metrics as defined by the business.
Lead supplier development, supplier risk assessments and supplier gap analysis in support of new product road maps and future business strategies. Deliver supplier quality deliverables in the Standard Product Development. Present findings and recommendations as part of Business Review process.
Partner with Design and Manufacturing Engineering along with Procurement functions to ensure all drawing, specification, CTQ's are systematically defined, agreed to by internal TK Elevator North America Supply Chain and Manufacturing personnel, and communicated to suppliers for action.
Qualify products purchased using a Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) to establish stable manufacturing within the supply base.
Lead internal and external teams to improve Cost of Poor Quality, Design for Manufacturing and Good Manufacturing Practices within the supply base.
Execute to business audit strategy which includes the development and execution of supplier audits with procurement and the global TK Elevator North America Supply Chain and Manufacturing commodity managers.
Report to top management on the performance of the quality management system and any needs for improvement.
Who we are looking for
Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline or non-technical degree with 7 years of relevant experience
Minimum of 5 years of engineering, procurement or supplier management responsibility
Qualified auditor with knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems or equivalent
Experience working in an Electrical and Mechanical Engineering environment
Experienced in new product development program execution and process management
Knowledge of root cause analysis methods and corrective and preventive action processes and tools
Evidence of effective execution in a matrix organization with proven ability to integrate cross functionally
Proven strong verbal and written communication skill at all levels of the organization
Shown ability to adjust tactics and methods to address changes within a dynamic business environment
Strong abilities to affect change with suppliers using quality management systems knowledge, good manufacturing practices, technical aptitude and analytical methods
Energizing and effective leader - able to motivate suppliers, peers and business leaders
Demonstrated ability to deliver results against organization goals
Demonstrated ability to address and resolve complex technical issues
