Position Title: Professional Land Surveyor (P3)


Role


This role will provide leadership and expertise in the cataloging, modification, and digitization of the legal descriptions within Crown Castle’s 50,000 location real estate portfolio.  The successful candidate will be proficient in GIS and AutoCAD and have significant experience interpreting and drafting legal descriptions prepared by others.  As a leader in this discipline, you will provide guidance and insights to other real estate teammates.


Responsibilities



  • Serve as a company subject matter expert on Legal Descriptions, Geodetic Surveying, and Geomatics Technology. 

  • Own the Company’s land surveying scope of work and quality standards.

  • Lead the onboarding and training of regional and national land surveyors across the enterprise.

  • Partner with Engineering to develop methods to automate the intake of existing survey data and data acquired by drones.

  • Consult with surveyors, engineers, attorneys, and customers to resolve land and easement related issues.   

  • Interpret deeds, maps, field notes, easement documents, and provides guidance and direction on technically complex issues. 

  • Prepare, certify final maps, sketches, documents and field notes.

  • Consult and support management on technical matters related to surveying and right-of-way. 

  • Lead initiatives and projects to improve Company business and technical processes.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, project coordination, and interaction with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Ability to research and utilize innovative methodologies, techniques, and delivery methods in relation to onboarding and training internal team members.

  • Excellent writing, communication, and training skills.

  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment that is in a growth mode.

 


Education/Certifications  



  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree in Urban Planning or related field preferred

 


Experience/Minimum Requirements  



  • 5+ Years' experience as a practicing professional land surveyor

  • Expertise in at least AutoCAD or GIS required, both preferred

  • Telecommunications experience preferred, not required

Organizational Relationship  


Reports to: VP, Real Estate


Working Conditions: Works in a normal office setting with no exposure to adverse environmental conditions.    We offer a hybrid working model with 3 days in local office and up to 2 days working remotely each week. This position will require travel when conditions allow.
