The Role

We are looking for a Senior Graphic Designer to support the evolution of our Marketing and Sales channels. Under the Creative Director, you will collaborate with internal partners in creating disruptive digital assets such as print, video, and animated graphics. Design solutions will reflect Johnson Controls’ design ethos and enhance the consumer and employee experience.

What You Will Be Working On

Work closely with Creative Director and Marketing Team to implement strategy and direction into creative digital executions that move the Johnson Controls brand forward through advertising. You will specifically be working on:


  • Packaging Design and Layout

  • Infographics

  • Templates that others can use to develop good looking designs quickly

  • Photo Editing

  • Provide Designs for the Sales Team to help with Distribution (Warehouse) and Security Dealers to help them learn and sell our products

  • Support Individual Dealers with assets to help them sell our products

  • HTML Email Layout and Design

  • Tradeshow Graphics

  • Promotional Product Graphics

  • Idea/Design landing pages

  • Global Support: modify the language, design, and layout to support international sales.

 You Will Also Be Required To:


  • Rapidly iterate design concepts

  • Work closely with product management and key digital marketing stakeholders

  • Support and assist the broader Creative team on other design-related projects as needed

  • Utilize knowledge of design and cultural trends to guide innovative and disruptive design experiences and translates to solutions

  • Collaborates with peers, design counterparts, and partner groups to ensure design continuity across all areas of focus and alignment to Brand plans

  • Manage multiple projects with critical deadlines

  • Advocate a Collaborative Culture

Required Skills


  • High proficiency in design-related software (Adobe Creative Cloud)

  • Strong oral and written communications skills, including meeting facilitation and presentations.

  • Strong ability to effectively communicate concepts to senior leadership

  • Strong ability to develop influential and collaborative relationships

  • Someone who thrives when they are working on multiple projects

  • Sound judgment and ability to contribute meaningfully to the determination of methods, policy, and strategy

  • Ability to motivate others, deal with ambiguity, and effectively collaborate in decision-making

  • Consistently helping up-level team skillsets. Investing heavily in team development

Minimum Qualifications


  • Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A), Graphic Design

  • Minimum 5 years of Graphic Design experience

  • Strong portfolio demonstrating capabilities and talents

  • Pixel perfect design skills with close attention to detail

  • Understanding of and ability to implement strategic design methods and practices

  • Working knowledge of the mechanics of printing, bindery, and environmental design methods

  • Video Editing

  • 3D Experience

  • AfterEffects and Motion Graphics

  • UX and UI Development

  • Experience with SalesForce

  • Experience with MailChimp and Pardot

  • Adobe XD and Figma

Working Conditions

This job operates in a professional office environment, with the flexibility to work from home as well. Our office is on the beautiful Sleepy Ridge Golf Course, in Orem Utah.
