Job Description:

As an eCommerce Computer Technician, you will examine, test and evaluate various networking electronic equipment in a production type setting. The electronic equipment includes but is not limited to; PC’s, components, tablets, laptops and routers.


eCommerce hours of operation are Sunday through Friday between 7 am and 8 pm.


RESPONSIBILITY LEVEL:


The Computer Technician will examine, test and evaluate various networking electronic equipment in a production type setting. The electronic equipment includes but is not limited to; PC’s, components, tablets, laptops and routers. The Technician will identify and evaluate the subject equipment for overall value on the open market. Technician may also test the equipment for functionality, install various hardware and load applicable software to prepare item to be listed and sold online. 


PRINCIPAL DUTIES:


1. Examine, test and evaluate various electronic equipment in a production type setting.


2. Record item details such as grade, specs and acceptance-rejection status.


3. Writes test or inspection reports describing results, recommendations or needed repairs.


4. Uses software and hardware to properly dispose of data on data bearing devices following appropriate procedures. 


5. Disassembles whole system into components, subcomponents and commodities using various tools. 


6. Sort and process raw materials from staging area to be processed appropriately.


7. Place salvage/recycle material in proper area and label accordingly.


8.    Follows, meets and records productivity according to established goals and procedures.


9.    Maintain Kaizen standards assuring optimal efficiencies.


10.    Accurately represents item via photograph, description and completion of listing format on listing platform.


     11.    Follows safety procedures, uses PPE as needed and uses proper body mechanics when performing each task. 


     12.    Notifies Supervisor of any challenges that impact production.


     13.    Assist with training and mentoring of associates.


     14.    Responsible for completing all other duties/responsibilities as assigned.   


 


REQUIREMENTS:


1. To perform these tasks, intermediate to advanced knowledge of computer systems including software applications, installation, components and/or hardware.  Linux experience is a plus.


2. Experience working in a related field is preferred, but not necessary.


3. Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects effectively.


4. Must be able to function independently in a work setting.


5. Ability to work flexible hours as needed and according to business needs.

PHYSICAL/SENSORY DEMANDS:


1. Ability to lift a minimum of 40 lbs. 


2. Able to stand/sit for extended periods of time. 


3. Able to push or pull a minimum of 75 lbs.


4. Manual dexterity to operate material handling equipment.


5. Able to grasp material for inspection, sorting and listing activities.


6. Able to visually observe equipment for markings and/or damage.


7. Able to work independently.
