Job Summary:

This position is located at the Milliken Almasite in Alma, GA. The Production Team Membersreportto the Production Manager. The Operators areresponsible for performing highly diversified duties and processes to support the achievement of the site's safety and production goals. Work hours are Monday through Friday, on a non-rotating, straight 8 hour shift but may, on occasion, require flexibility outside of the normal work schedule.

The operator follows prescribed safety procedures (Ref. SHMS 004).

Responsibilities

This job consists of inspecting yarn, handling yarn packages up to 20lbs, ensuring correct thread up of machine, fixing yarn break outs, and labeling

The Superba operator is responsible for the following:

1. Obtain daily work assignment upon arrival


2. Making labels to identify heatset yarns


3. Creeling the superbas.


4. Correctly threading the superbas on the creel end


5. Starting up the superba vessel


6. Properly threading the superba turnaround zone


7. Splicing the yarn at the winder


8. Threading winders correctly


9. Starting winders


10. Repairing mis-doffs on the winders


11. Loading superba magazine with tubes


12. Keeping hands clean at all times when handling yarn.


13. Inspect and tie off doffs


14. Manually packing yarn


15. Packing non-heatset yarn


16. Transport yarn to stretchwrap system


17. Operate small stretchwrap system


18. Performing lot changes


19. Perform Job Risk Assessments


20. Turning in twisting doff tickets that have been creeled during shift to the lab at the end of the shift. Complete daily operator effectiveness audit (REF. STDWK-SH22


21. Routinely serve as an assignment leader for the superba room (REF. STDWK- SH20).


22. Keeping hands clean at all times when handling yarn.


23. Perform other job duties as requested by your immediate manager. Operator must fill out JSA if necessary.


24. Comply with all plant, area safety rules, LOTO procedures and standard work.


25. Inspect product quality, appropriately responding to non-conforming product


26. Maintain time and production records


27. May be selected to perform duties based upon production demands.

Authorized Shut Down

The operator is authorized to shut down a Superba if it is unsafe or producing off quality, such as wet yarn, stretched yarn, pulled fibers or any other unusual occurrence.
