Job Description:

We're actively seeking a talented Model Development Actuary to join our Life Product Design & Pricing team in Aliso Viejo, CA. This role can be on-site or 100% remote.

How you will make an impact:

• Serve as a stakeholder to effectively and efficiently perform actuarial modeling and processes.


• Develop strong actuarial skills/serve a key person to understand related regulatory and internal requirements for modeling purpose.


• Learn and apply good knowledge of insurance specs and actuarial related regulations to build the high speed and user-friendly C# actuarial Pricing models .


• Maintain, modify, validate, understand and interpret complex life actuarial pricing models.


• Maintains model release, meet model risk governance requirements, and update related documents.


• Support pricing actuaries for competition analysis, profit study, product management, and speed to market.


• Work individually and/or in teams to complete projects on time and with high quality.


• Develop relationships and collaborate with other departments and business units, especially for model risk management.


• Provide training to model users to ease learning curve.

The experience you will bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or equivalent experience.


• Completion of, or close to obtaining, the ASA credential


• Excited to work in a role that involves heavy coding including but not limited to C#, Python, Visual Basic.


• Strong motivation for innovation; this will be key in designing and developing a new generation of actuarial systems.


• Detail-oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills.

What will make you stand out:

• Skilled in C#, Python, Visual Basic, or other programming languages


• Experience working with Prophet, MG_ALFA, GGY-AXIS, or MoSes a plus


• Prior work with life products and/or annuities; preferably within product design or pricing
