Associate Engineer, MCAD at Danbury Mission Technologies

Specific Requirements:

In this position, you will be responsible for:


  • Performing mechanical design on multiple projects through all phases of product lifecycle and take direction on tasks from Lead Project Mechanical Engineers

  • Creating part models, assembly layouts, detailed drawings, and Bills of Materials using CREO for solid modeling and PDMLink for data management

  • Requirement implementation and minimizing costs

  • Working with manufacturing personnel to assess and implement Design for Manufacturability (DFM) into design work

  • Completing and conducting various program communications such as status reports, meetings, and peer reviews

  • Executing engineering design changes for part and assembly drawings

  • Actively participating in project scheduling and budgeting

  • Validating concepts through engineering models and prototypes

  • Interaction and coordination with all engineering disciplines to deliver comprehensive design, engineering, and specification packages

Education Requirements: 

Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field required

Experience Required:


  • Experienced in FEA (ANSYS, CREO simulation, etc.) is a plus

  • Experience manufacturing and prototyping in an array of engineering materials

  • Experience with conceptual and detailed cost estimating within engineering discipline, experience estimating with other disciplines a plus

  • Must be computer proficient with working knowledge of MS excel, PowerPoint and word

  • Willingness to reach out to other departments and disciplines to drive tasks to completion

  • Solid modeling experience a must; prefer CREO and Windchill PDMLink experience

  • General understanding of GD&T
