Financial Reporting Accountant at CDS GLOBAL

Job Description:

SUMMARY

Under general direction, performs various complex analytical and technical accounting functions to gather, analyze, interpret, record and present financial data and reports, according to established Accounting practices and established company procedures. In addition, supports clients as well as internal Client Services and Information Technology staff regarding Client Accounting reports.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

•    Maintains confidentiality of CDS Global and its clients’ proprietary information.

•    Develops, prepares, and analyzes various formal financial statements, reports and records. Researches and prepares various routine to complex accounting and reconciliations up to and including journal entries.

•    Provides research, analysis, and resolution with Month End balancing variances, questions, and issues from the Client Accounting Specialists as needed for all Order Management Systems. Then provides resolution and functional guidance, verbal and written, to Client Accounting Specialists. 

•    Completes the necessary steps for conversions and transfers reconciliation as it pertains to Client Accounting (per the Workplan).

•    Provides explanation and overview of Client Accounting reporting package to both current and perspective clients for all Order Management Systems.

•    Provides training, assistance, and knowledge of financial reports from our Order Management Systems to the clients as well as internal contacts, e.g., Client Management, Client Support staff and Information Technology staff. 

•    Assists with revising and designing financial reports as needed. 

•    Creates new Query and balancing efforts as required to support the Month End balancing process (for Client Accounting Specialists), often due to changes in the system or business policies.

•    As needed or required, reviews new programming releases and/or database fixes to ensure the financial impact is known and represented in the Journal Entry.

•    Provide assistance and guidance regarding Payment Systems setup as needed for various internal departments.

•    Works on special projects as requested by the Manager.

•    Organizes tasks and resources to complete work and meet deadlines according to established departmental procedures.

•    Learns and applies new information in fast paced environment, including various systems, databases and/or system generated reports.

•    Interacts in cooperative, positive, and professional manner with all levels of employees, clients and/or vendors in team-oriented environment.

•    Makes decisions on variety of tasks frequently requiring discretion, judgment and initiative guided by general procedures or standards.

•    Follows all CDS Global ergonomic and safety policies.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

•    Works extended hours as required or requested.

•    Performs additional duties as required or requested.

EDUCATION AND/OR CERTIFICATION, SKILLS AND LICENSING

•    Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field, or equivalent Accounting work experience.

•    Five or more years of business accounting experience.

•    Proficient PC spreadsheet, word-processing and database knowledge and skills.  Microsoft Office or equivalent software products, e.g., Excel, Access, and Word preferred.

•    Proficient verbal and written communication skills.

•    Demonstrated skills gathering and interpreting data to solve non-routine and complex problems.

•    Demonstrated experience working in a team environment.

•    Demonstrated skills prioritizing and completing long/short-term tasks with minimal supervision.

•    Advanced math skills.

•    Demonstrated experience remaining productive in changing environment.

•    If required to travel, has access to transportation requiring a valid driver’s license, proof of safe driving record and active insurance.
