Position Overview:
The BerganKDV Tax Manager plays an integral role in the successful completion of client engagements, team development and business process improvement. They are driven by the overall success of clients, their teams and the firm. The Tax Manager will provide review and ancillary services to the BerganKDV tax practice, while participating in firm activities outside of the tax practice.

Responsibilities:

Deliver a full range of specialized tax, compliance and consulting services in compliance with laws, regulations and timelines.
Participate in the planning of client engagements, staffing requirements, identifying potential areas of risk and have accountability for project profitability.
Manage associates, seniors, and supervisors; assigning work based on their knowledge and capabilities, providing feedback to them, and evaluating their progress; offering guidance and direction.
Builds an in-depth knowledge of key client industries, looks for opportunities, and joins industry organizations to develop a targeted potential client pool.
Strive for an advisor relationship in every client interaction, always seeking opportunities for your clients to further their business and goals. ?
Be an active participant in business development meetings with the goal to build strong relationships and drive new client projects and revenue. ??
Begin building industry specialization and industry focused service. This may include attending peer group meetings or industry organization involvement.
Be a technical resource, sounding board, and example for other members of the tax team. This may require formal?and informal group training and one to one individualized coaching.
Support the growth and professional development of yourself and your BerganKDV teammates by participating in company sponsored trainings, CPE courses, internal committees, and mentorship opportunities.
Be transparent in your decisions, communicate effectively with your team, have open and honest dialogue, and be a flexible leader to accommodate various management styles.

Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree in accounting
Master's in taxation preferred
CPA certification required
6+ years of professional services experience with a record of high achievement a plus
Excellent interpersonal skills?
Strong written and verbal communication skills?
Strong analytical, teamwork and organizational skills?
Integrity, maturity, dependability, a positive attitude and a strong work ethic?
PC proficiency, including spreadsheet, word processing and presentation software applications
