Job Description

Looking for a role to exercise your technical knowledge and creativity to solve business challenges ? The Product and Consumer Science team is seeking a Research & Engineering (R&E) Lead Scientist. In this assignment, the candidate will be primarily responsible for designing and running studies in the mannequin lab. The incumbent will work with product developer requestors, lab technicians and statisticians to design, execute and analyze studies. Information will be used to make decisions on product designs. The incumbent will report to an R&E Manager. This position will be located at our Kimberly-Clark Research & Engineering offices in Neenah, Wisconsin.

Position Purpose:
Lead the design and execution of mannequin studies to provide information to support product development decisions. Become the technical expert in mannequin area.  Understand lab capabilities as it relates to product evaluations.

Responsibilities:
•    Engage with product development project teams and specifically the product developer requester to understand learning gaps and design standard or customized mannequin studies to inform critical product development decisions.
•    Lead mannequin lab technicians to execute studies in a safe and effective manner.  Partner with mannequin lab technical coordinator to effectively manage lab operations.
•    Partner with the Senior Scientist for the mannequin and the Physical Testing Technical Leader to ensure lab is functioning as expected and escalate needs.
•    Partner with Human Subject Testing team to ensure mannequin testing is a bridge between human and physical testing.
•    Manage mannequin tests with varying levels of complexity to answer key business questions.  Leverage experimental design to efficiently run experiments.  Work with statistician to effectively summarize learnings. 
•    Innovate current mannequins to evolve to more life-like designs. Protect technologies and products through appropriate use of patents, trade secrets, and other intellectual property

Required Qualifications:
•    Bachelor’s or advanced science or engineering degree.  Demonstrated equivalent experience may be substituted for education
•    3+ years of experience in product development, physical testing or human subject testing role. 
•    Knowledge of consumer product design and testing
•    Knowledge of statistical design of experiments and statistical analysis
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•    Ability to lead small teams (2-3 people) to successfully execute projects

Other Qualifications:
•    Ability to work well with cross-functional teams of scientists, engineers, marketers, and safety/regulatory experts
•    Willingness to partner with outside companies to advance mannequin lab capabilities.
