Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant in Lakewood, NJ.
Summary:
Our client is a community-based, full-service commercial bank that emphasizes the banking needs of small to medium-sized businesses, professional entities, and individual consumers throughout New Jersey. This role performs various duties to support the Bank's accounting, financial reporting, and control functions.
Responsibilities:
In this role, the Senior Accountant prepares monthly financial statements, reports, and records by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information
Prepares journal entries and reconciliations for monthly general ledger close
Maintains the Bank's accounting systems for accounts payable, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and accrued expenses, including related processing and reporting
Maintains the Bank's internal demand deposit accounts; Reconciles account statements
Reviews Bank statements and reconciles general ledger balances with corresponding banks such as the FRB-NY, FHLB-NY, and ACBB
The Senior Accountant researches and reconciles all discrepancies including auditing and verifying all financial documents
Prepares vendor checks utilizing Accounts Payable system; Processes incoming and outgoing wire transfers; Prepares Sales and Use taxes
Assists with testing of the system reports required for management, financial reporting, and general ledger reconciliations
Assists with completion of quarterly and annual regulatory reporting, including the Call Report, Summary of Deposits, GUDPA, and FR 2900
Assists with preparing for various audits and regulatory examinations by gathering requested materials; Assists in preparing assigned schedules
Assists with various accounting related projects and special projects as assigned
Senior Accountant cross trains in order to perform back-up duties for other Finance/Accounting personnel as required
REQUIREMENTS:
5+ years of relevant experience
Community banking experience
Candidates qualifying for this position will have similar experience along with the skills and abilities to perform the duties mentioned
Any relevant education and/or training will be considered a plus
