Kforce has a client in Allen, TX that is seeking a Network Engineer for a remote position.
Summary:
The Network Engineer (remote) provides phone support to a wide array of customer environments in a Managed Services environment. This person will be responsible for addressing support tickets that are generated for a customer's environment and will be expected to see the issue through to resolution. The Network Engineer will be responsible for addressing a large number of tickets daily while maintaining a high level of customer service.
Essential Functions:
Network Engineer provides phone support to customers relative to networking technology (10am CST - 7pm CST shift)
Support of Server Operating Systems ranging from Microsoft Windows Server 2003 - 2012
Support applications and peripherals on servers including tape backup hardware and software, email software, anti-virus software, etc.
As a Network Engineer, you will support current network operating systems on new or existing devices and/or communication equipment including routers and switches
Corresponds with customers and other divisions within the company to ensure all customer concerns and issues are resolved in a timely manner
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Network Engineer
LAN/WAN network support experience
Must have experience in supporting and troubleshooting Windows Server environments, both physical and virtual
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Candidate must be willing to work a 10am - 7pm CST shift
The following certifications are preferred:
Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE, MCITP)
VMware VCP
Cisco CCNA
Preferred Skills:
Experience in a call center or MSP environment is preferred
Experience with Dell hardware and software, such as Dell Servers, Equallogic SANs, and AppAssure, is preferred
Experience with WAN technologies, including Cisco routers and switches, is preferred
