UST is looking for a UNIX Consultant .The ideal candidate oversees the Project under SAP portfolio to support UNIX and PERL for the migration of SAP Application into Cloud.
The ideal candidate should have excellent hands on experience with UNIX with a good understanding of SAP application design. Candidate should have good experience in to support UNIX and PERL for the migration of SAP Application into Cloud. UNIX scripting and Perl scripting are the core competency and mandatory skills required.
A good understanding of SAP system architecture is expected. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to translate business requirements into system requirements is key to be successful in this role.
As a SAP UNIX & PERL Consultant, your focus will include, but not be limited to:
* Scripting language knowledge on UNIX and PERL
* Installing and upgrading UNIX system software on company servers and computers.
* Responding to user requests and software errors.
* Monitoring the performance of the system and server.
* Creating backup and recovery policies.
* Setting up and monitoring security policies.
* Applying patches and upgrades when necessary.
* Create and maintain environment for running batch jobs associated with daily batch cycle and batch reporting subsystem
* Work with LAN/Network personnel to ensure compatibility with LAN applications and peripheral hardware to provide end users with reliable and stable working environment
* Support and maintain other vendor database software installed on the LAN servers
* Perform User Access Management;
* Experience supporting day-today administration functions including user account management and script creation
* Ability to perform all tasks in the development cycle, starting from business strategy, business process definition, to configuration and unit testing, assistance and follow-up with user testing, to co-ordination of transports to Production, to training and post-live support and fixes.
* Knowledge on testing the interfaces (Inbound and outbound)
* Responsible for Test plan creation and Test design analysing the requirements
* Test execution based on the Test plan devised.
* Creating and updating defects status in Quality system.
* Functional testing/QA experience. Should have worked on preparing test strategy, gathering test metrics etc.
* The candidate needs to have strong business process and customer-facing skills as well as strong trouble shooting skills. In addition, the candidate needs to be articulate, punctual, organized and methodical.
* Serving as trusted advisor to clients to help them meet business needs through innovative solutions.

Conduct technical assessments for hiring candidates in architect/lead roles.

Resolve delivery and design issues. Own the design of a complex module for projects of the following nature: architecture enhancements/mid-sized development projects/maintenance projects

Define Architecture for mid-sized type of project.
Design the technical framework and implement the same.
Identify and conduct design of complex sub-components /module in collaboration with project team architects and client SME.

Undertake project specific Proof of Concepts activities to validate technical feasibility with guidance from the Solution Architect.
