Whether the item is a company golf shirt, a T-shirt from a rock concert or a souvenir shirt from a vacation destination, chances are it has passed through one of our many Distribution Centers across North America.

Job Content:


  1. Overall purpose of this position:

Promote inventory integrity by performing cycle counts, reconciling inventory variances, reviewing inventory files prior to posting and deciding if inventory should be adjusted.


  1. Major activities, which must be performed in order to carry out the purpose of the position as described above:

  1. Perform inventory counts and reconcile completed counts. Must drive the Hi-Lo/cherry Picker equipment Research variances and review item transactions/history to determine if a recount or adjustment is needed.  Look for root cause of errors. 

  2. Review inventory reports or issues to determine whether to cycle count, research or make stock adjustments.  Prepare/set cycle counts for auditors.

  3. Adjust inventory in IRMS and/or FDM4.  Determine proper stock adjustment code and ensure appropriate sign offs are obtained for large adjustments.

  4. Address order reconciliation issues in a timely manner. Review item details/history/set up to determine why an order line will not drop.  Determine if issue can be resolved by fixing data or with stock adjustment or if order must be shorted.

  5. Update and distribute department reports using Excel or logs.  Create basic spreadsheets using Excel.

  6. Perform product inspections to determine if product meets established specifications.  This includes indentifying product as well as sorting through product to determine if product is “good” so it can go back to stock or if product should be written off.

  7. Review inventory exception reports (synch and shipment discrepancy).  Reconcile sku’s or orders by researching items/orders/transaction history in IRMS and FDM4.  Determine the cause of the issue and appropriate resolution.  This may include a stock adjustment in IRMS and/or FDM4 or creating another transaction such as a claim or invoice.

  8. Review inventory in Inventory Problem Bins to confirm and resolve issues with items.  Determine if inventory can be corrected with a stock adjustment, put back to stock or if it is damaged or defective and must be written off.  Identify product that is not labeled or not labeled correctly and properly label carton.

  9. Review cancel orders in IRMS and FDM4 to decide how to complete cancelation of order (may include cancel order in FDM4, request order to be invoiced and/or perform inventory stock adjustments).  Coordinate cancel with back to stock to prevent inventory timing issues.

  10. Putaway product that has been processed through claims.

  11. Perform final check of inventory before a customer order is shorted.  Check item locations as well as “likely locations” (neighboring bins, aisles, end caps…).  Review item transactions and old locations to try to find missing inventory.  Update warehouse transfer order in FDM4 to if appropriate.

  12. Process customer returns by sorting/inspecting/identifying product and updating items/quantities on claims in IRMS.  Determine if claim is complete.  Close/post claims.

  13. Research claims and customer orders in FDM4 and IRMS to resolve claims discrepancies or to try to identify unidentified returned cartons so credit can be processed for the right customer.  Communicate with Customer Service Returns group to resolve claims issues.  Create and update customer returns in FDM4.

  14. Communicate with Purchasing and or mills to get return authorization or to resolve mill return issues.  Enter mill returns in FDM4. Audit mill return area for accuracy and to ensure timely return of product.  Prepare mills returns for shipment and coordinate shipping with outbound departments.

  15. Enter warehouse transfers in FDM4.  Review open transfer reports in FDM4 to ensure transfers are received or shipped.  Communicate with other DC’s regarding transfer issues.  Review/research transfer transactions related to picking or receiving to resolve discrepancies.

  16. Review receipt transactions and variances.  Determine if cycle count or further research is needed.  Post ASN to inventory and reconcile posting between IRMS and FDM4.  Distribute and file copies of paperwork per procedures.

Assist in training employees on tasks, procedures, or systems.


  1. Perform inbound/outbound audits (receipt/returns and outbound orders including transfers).

  2. Assist DC with location/pick bin set up and/or slotting product when requested.

  3. Adhere to established safety regulations and company policies/procedures.

  4. Serve as a member of the distribution center team by assisting in other areas as needed.

Qualifications:


  1. Specific knowledge, training or skills required to perform the duties of this

Position.  Identify specific concepts, courses, training programs or required certifications.


  • Attention to detail/accuracy

  • Ability to review data, determine cause/effect; identify root cause and make sound decisions.

  • Manage multiple priorities/deadlines.

  • Use IRMS and FDM4 with strong understanding of how processes and systems are integrated.

  • Good oral and written communications skills. Ability to work through an issue or pose a question in polite/respectful manner.

  • Ability to identify problems/issues and resolve with minimal supervision.

  • Solid knowledge of company product line

  • Ability to use basic warehouse tools/equipment.

  • May be required to be certified to operate motorized equipment (electric pallet jack, stock picker, mule or other power equipment)

  • Physical agility and stamina to stand, walk, bend and lift (up to 60 pounds).

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Proficient with PC, spreadsheets and other software.

  • Physical agility to stand, walk and lift 60 pounds.

  • Flexibility with work schedule; available to work overtime.

  1. Previous positions that are necessary background experience to qualify for this

Position.

1 year experience in cycle counting or inventory control is preferred.  Previous distribution center experience is helpful.
