Position Summary:

The Senior Accountant position will be assigned to EGT, LLC, a joint venture between Bunge and Pan Ocean, and part of Bunge's agribusiness accounting team. Primary duties include managing a timely and accurate monthly close as well as related margin analysis and management reporting. The position will also have responsibility to ensure that adequate internal controls are executed to support SOX requirements.

Core Functions:

• Serve as a single point of contact to assigned locations for all aspects of the financial statements and internal controls, as well as the annual external audit


• Facilitate a timely and accurate month-end closing process through preparation of mark to market calculations and analysis, inventory management controls (book vs physical and valuation) recording journal entries, and executing other closing tasks as assigned


• Manage daily margin calls and trading activity reconciliations


• Responsible for review of assigned balance sheet reconciliations including adequate procedures and processes to ensure no material cross period adjustments


• Generate applicable analysis and reports to divisional, regional, and location management to provide clarity, understanding and explanations of monthly financial results (EBIT, Net Assets, etc.)


• Oversee shuttle freight accounting activities and related rail incentives


• Be an engaged business partner to location commercial and operations team, and work closely with Bunge's back office team in Mohali, India


• Other job duties as assigned

Skill/Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field;


• 5 plus years of accounting experience, with strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP);


• Excellent communication skills - verbal and written


• Able to work in team environment
