The Senior Construction Manager assists in the construction of public and private Infrastructure projects. The Senior Construction Services Manager works with Design Engineers, Project Managers, Practice Leader, and Market directors for civil engineering projects for the Aviation, Water, and Transportation Markets.
The Senior Construction Manager will correspond and communicate with staff and other acquisition staff to determine, establish and implement best management practices and procedures on construction projects.
Responsibilities:
The Senior Construction Manager responsibilities include:
Manage the inspections of construction projects and materials for compliance with applicable codes, standards, and approved construction plans/specifications
Ensures that inspections are completed according to contract protocols.
Review and interpret construction documents, site drawings, as-built drawings, and specifications
Recommends corrective action when problems are detected.
Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.
Communicate with contractors if test failures occur.
Manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity.
Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility.
Produce daily and weekly reports
Provides input in developing the construction budget.
Assist in preparing/reviewing construction cost estimates
Assist with marketing and client development
Qualifications
BS degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline is required
10+ years of construction management / project management experience
Proficient in MS Office, Word, Excel
Strong background in civil engineering and land development including knowing the means and methods and standard of care for construction
Familiarity with construction observation reporting and procedures
Excellent daily report writing and accurate quantity tracking ability
Good communication skills with clients and staff
Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
10 Hour OSHA Construction Certificate or ability to obtain
Ability to visit and safely traverse construction and project sites as well as comply with applicable safety codes and requirements
Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D a plus
