The role of the Senior Manager of Cloud and Automation will help cloud and automation engineers as we help propel Medline's domestic and international growth. This role will work with multiple IT and business leadership levels to promote and support infrastructure automation and public cloud adoption, as defined by Medline's cloud strategy. Medline offers a fast-paced and dynamic work environment for you to shine as a leader. A successful candidate for this position will have appropriate technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and previous experience leading teams.

This position is a hybrid remote work position. While most work can be done remotely, attendance in a Chicago area office may be required on short notice. Individuals must be located within a reasonable commute distance to accommodate.

Responsibilities:

• Lead team of direct reports within the cloud and automation space


• Set team vision and align priorities with senior IT management


• Direct, coach, and mentor staff in areas of responsibilities


• Author standards and methodologies employed by department/team


• Ensure adherence to IT practices, governance, and gathering of KPIs


• Responsible for overall quality of team's output


• Work with senior leadership to set quarterly goals and track progress


• Create and maintain performance metrics and drive continuous improvement


• Work with business partners to identify technology needs


• Coordinate with offshore resources and international business partners


• Manage vendor relationships and contracts

Knowledge and Experience

• 5 years of management experience


• Demonstrated IT leadership skills


• Experience leading teams through changes in strategic direction


• Demonstrated skill implementing process improvements


• Basic understanding of business finance and budgeting concepts


• Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment


• Experience working with Management to drive consensus in a highly evolving, rapid-moving organization

• Ability to act as a mentor/advisor to the team and direct reports


• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment leveraging agile methodologies


• Knowledge of automation and cloud technologies


• Superior oral and written communication skills; able to communicate effectively with technical peers and multiple levels of Management


• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail


• Works well independently, exercises good judgment


• Willingness to work flexible hours and be available as needed


• Proficient in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio) software


• Bachelor's degree a plus


• Infrequent travel may be required
