Position Summary:

Provide a full range of support to the Procure to Pay (P2P) business and system processes including analytics and reporting support, user support, training, testing, security and other activities supporting North America business key strategic, tactical and operational goals and objectives.  Operates as the SAP, requisitioning and electronic document exchange subject matter professional and creates, maintains, updates, and analyzes SAP master data.  Provides electronic document exchange support in a variety of transmission formats.  Provides a centralized, key role in the successful interaction between the workstreams and regions.

Organization:


  • Reports to the Strategy and Capabilities Senior Manager in Procurement


  • Key customers consist of employees throughout the organization using Requisition to Check (RTC), Procure to Pay (P2P) or other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) processes.  This includes but is not limited to Regional and Global Category Managers, Requisitioners, Planners (Material and Mill), Material Coordinators, accounting personnel, COE leaders and team members, the GBS buying organization, KCNA Tactical team buyers and Suppliers.


Current Scope


  • Responsible for various procurement system applications used by requisitioners, buyers and suppliers. They are accountable for the availability, usability an application of the procurement systems. They must have the ability to understand a customer's issue, troubleshoot, and provide an effective, timely solution.


  • Approximately 5,000 SAP system users are supported by this position across all business sectors in North America. 


  • Approximately 10,000 suppliers are affected by PO automation activities. The P2P workstream business process, procedures, and systems are used to support the sourcing, ordering, purchasing, receiving, payment and accounting for approximately $6.5 billion dollars’ worth of goods and services. 


Expectations:


  • Lead a broad range of P2P activities:  helpdesk support, business process and system training, documentation of business and system procedures, process improvement projects, security administration and special task force assignments as needed


  • Role functions independently with minimal supervision, has contact with many functions, roles, and levels across the organization, is required to demonstrate problem solving and analytical capabilities to investigate root cause of various issues and provide resolution.


  • Lead the support of electronic document exchange in a variety of transmission formats as the subject matter professional.  Manage Purchasing System data bases to ensure accuracy and functionality in all areas of procurement responsibility.  Recommend data base changes to improve efficiency or otherwise contribute to cost reduction. 


  • Challenge existing practices and make data motivated recommendations concerning improvements to standardizing and streamlining processes.


  • Establish best-in-class performance indicators/metrics for data within their area of responsibility and regularly report status to the Procurement organization.  Investigate and initiate appropriate corrective action as required.


  • Provide advanced SME knowledge to develop documentation and deliver end user training and maintain a high level of SAP and document exchange expertise.


  • As a system and process SME, participate in larger (enterprise) projects and initiatives to develop and refine system enhancements, data processes and metrics, including developing and executing test scripts to support new functionality and system upgrades.

Basic Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in information technology (IT), Supply Chain or an equivalent combination of training and experience.


  • 3-5 years of supply chain or business-related experience and/or cross-functional experience.


  • Excellent skills in organizing, controlling, thoroughness, analysis/troubleshooting, initiative, decision-making, flexibility, personal and organization sensitivity, oral and written communication.


  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, Cloud based applications and SAP.


  • Motivated individual who is detail oriented and possesses exceptional analytical and organizational skills and is able to exercise independent problem solving and decision making with a high degree of initiative and self-coordination.


  • Knowledge of the organization and its business policies and procedures.


  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Knowledge of P2P processes.


  • Experience with CI/Lean methodology and tools including Simple Problem Solving and other tools such as process mapping, process improvement, A3, Kaizen events, etc.).


  • Important skills include analysis, communication, initiative, decision making, organizational sensitivity and employee development.
