At WellSky, the Solution Management (aka Product Management) team listens to clients and the market to build the current and future roadmap for our healthcare solutions. This requires bridging the gap between clinical or functional needs and technical requirements and determining how to break big requests into small enough work units that they can be successfully developed and delivered.

WellSky is seeking a versatile individual with a technical background who can function as the product owner for one or more development scrum teams building high quality and high impact software in a challenging and cutting-edge technical environment. This person will work collaboratively with technical and functional stakeholders to understand the requirements and produce a product backlog that drives the developers to build effective and useful software.

A day in the life!

You will be responsible for the following:

• Research existing and new solution features and identify functional (and some technical) requirements


• Create spreadsheets, diagrams and other design artifacts that analyze requirements and communicate desired function and scope to technical and functional team members


• Document software requirements in Jira to maintain a backlog of work for the scrum team(s)


• Collaborate with software engineering to size Jira Issues and select suitable items to populate development sprints to maximize team capacity


• Participate in software development sprints to serve as the first level of escalation for questions and issues, and to triage any items which require outside expertise


• Provide updates on progress toward strategic objectives and share estimated dates of achievement


• Contribute knowledge and expertise to strategic plan development and goal setting

Do you have what it takes?

Required Experience:

• 3-5 years experience developing or supporting Healthcare software


• 1-2 years experience developing software requirements


• 1-2 years experience working in an Agile Software environment, preferably SCRUM oriented

Do you stand above the rest?

Preferred Experience

• 2-4 years experience as a Solutions or Product Analyst


• Agile Product Owner training or certification


• Experience on a Software re-platforming project
