Hours: 20 hours per week, sched may vary

We have (2) part time openings for an Infection Preventionist. These (2) positions are 20 hours per week and schedule may vary. These positions may be remote once orientation and training complete. It's a great opportunity for an experienced IP to be able to work from home with schedule flexibility.

The RN, Infection Preventionist, works with patients/families, staff and systems to achieve quality, cost-effective, patient-focused outcomes within a specialty area. Focus areas are clinical practice, teaching, research and consulting. Practices in consultation with and under the guidance of a Certified RN Infection Preventionist.

In this role you will:


  • Serves as a knowledgeable resource for patients, families, visitors, and staff in both inpatient and outpatient settings regarding infection control standard processes and policies.

  • Addresses questions and interprets policy related to specific patient needs and unique situations.

  • Maintains compliance with national standards and regulation bodies (e.g., JCAHO, CDC, OSHA/WISHA).

  • Participates in the improvement or development of standard processes in conjunction with Infection Control (IC) team and leadership

  • Audits trends and analyzes VMFH processes for report to the Infection Control Committee. Facilitates timely response and ensures implementation of resolution outcomes.

  • Works closely with care team members to implement precautions standard processes in accordance with current standards of practice, rules and regulations including daily rounds, audits, and education of healthcare team members.

  • Responds to address precautions compliance concerns and escalation of circumstances as needed.

  • Implements and manages the cohorting of patients as needed in all potential settings


Qualifications:


  • Current WA State RN license

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing

  • Certification in Infection Control (CIC)

  • 5 or more years experience in a clinical nursing capacity

  • Must obtain CIC certification within 2 years of date of hire

Preferred: Master's degree in Nursing

Ideal candidates will have background and experience in Peri-operative and or sterile processing
