Covia has an immediate opening for a Maintenance position at the Pevely, MO. facility. TheMaintenance position isaccountable to ensure the safe and productive operation of the plant and must possess aptitude for multiple disciplines and be proficient in the operation of equipment associated with all functional areas within the plant.



The successful incumbent will have the following Key Accountabilities:



  • Possess the mechanical and electrical skills to perform plant maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs associated with all on-site stationary equipment.

  • Must adhere to all COVIA safety policy and standards. Must work safely and protect the well-being of other workers.

  • Possess ability to troubleshoot 480 VAC / 120 VAC circuitry and equipment.

  • Possess ability to design and fabricate new equipment or repair components for the plant's machinery.

  • Must be competent in welding and metal fabrication and electrical component installations.

  • Must be able to use plant maintenance tools and equipment including cranes, manlifts, forklifts, skid steer and front-end loaders.

  • Must be able to read manuals, blueprints, electrical diagrams, and complete required reports.

  • Possess ability to complete training coursework to advance electrical and mechanical knowledge and skills.

  • Must have capacity to work in all outdoor year-round weather conditions, inside unheated or uncooled buildings, or inside machinery.

  • Must be able to perform repairs from elevated worksites or man-lifts.

  • Must be able to climb stairs and ladders, and lift and carry 100-pound objects.

  • Must be able to startup and operate plant process machinery.

  • Requires the aptitude to manage high stress, fast paced atmospheres, requiring long and physically demanding hours with little notice.

  • Must respond to plant callouts for equipment breakdown repairs.

  • Daily and weekend overtime will be assigned as needed.

  • Perform equipment and area inspections and maintain a safe work environment.



  • Perform all other duties as needed or assigned.




The successful incumbent will have the following Minimum Qualifications:



  • High school diploma or GED equivalent

  • Previous mechanical and electrical experience preferred

  • Safety awareness
