Overview

As a Materials Planner II, you will be responsible for planning and scheduling of internal manufacturing operations in accordance with the needs of the MPS, and insuring capacity optimization. You will also be responsible for finite scheduling, capacity planning & inventory optimization, and releasing requisitions to purchasing for outside procurement requirements.


Responsibilities


  • Planning and scheduling of internal manufacturing operations in accordance with the needs of the MPS, and to insure capacity optimization. Finite scheduling, capacity planning & inventory optimization. Releasing requisitions to purchasing for outside procurement requirements.

  • Analyzing supply and demand and releasing internal works orders, balancing OEM, after-market/spare requirements & inventory

  • Constructing a planning bill of material when given parents and components

  • Developing a plan for every part and serving as the data owner for all make and buy planning elements.

  • Updating planning, financial, and delivery information to reflect results

  • Planning and sequencing material inflows to maintain inventory at planned levels to insure that inventories are sized and balanced at the optimum levels throughout the supply chain

  • Attending drawing release meetings and engineering change review meetings to conduct material impact assessments on new parts. Participating in process on make/buy decisions.

  • Managing the effective cut in of engineering changes minimizing inventory impacts and ensuring customer OTD.

  • Managing or escalating any problems that may impact the planned schedule or customer commitments for assigned products.

  • Supporting other department planners with data input, router creation or expediting as requested.

  • Support department manager with SQL and Excel reports and spreadsheets.


Qualifications

MINIMUM:


  • High School Diploma

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience working as a planner or buyer/planner to include time working in a machine shop/manufacturing environment

PREFERRED:


  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain or related field preferred or equivalent work experience

  • Intermediate level of MS Excel/Word/PowerPoint

  • Knowledge and understanding of Supply Chain concepts and applications

  • Strong analytical, planning and organizational skills

  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently under pressure and react quickly to changing priorities

  • Experience with M2M and / or Oracle planning tool
