Job Description:

PAC WORLDWIDE BRAND NEW PLANT IN UNION CITY! 5 MIN FROM AIRPORT (SOUTH SIDE ATL)



The Trainer Develops Training Modules and training materials, such as training power points. Develops standard work instructions using TWI training standards. Analyzes job duties and writes Training Modules; adheres to training timetables. Develops standardized training plans, assessments, data gathering systems and employee progression and success rates that ensure employees think systematically about their job and the critical link between standardization under direct supervision. Is responsible for developing trainees into qualified packers and operators following company procedures. The trainer assists with developing production personnel on shift in performing operations according to sound operating principles and company policies and procedures with integrity and ethical behaviors to meet established performance goals. The Lead trainer role will execute production activities in addition to other Safety and Quality training support, as needed.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Position will provide classroom and machine instruction to new employees and current employees.

  • Must be comfortable in front of an audience and willing to speak in public on a regular basis.

  • Provide classroom instructional training for new employees, utilizing both written and video/PowerPoint -based materials.

  • Provide on-the-job-specific machine training instruction for new employees on the production floor in order to shorten the training cycles at the plant level. Assess new employee's ability to acquire job knowledge and apply it.

  • Assist in developing training programs or methods of training, prepare updates to current programs, and revise instructional material documents based on current requirements and training on safety, job duties, etc.

  • Keep records of issues identified and report to Management for review.

  • Gathers information and works with management on solutions involving training issues.

  • Maintains records of training activities.

  • Coordinate's skills training. Provides training assistance for new and current employees that are learning new skills.

  • Pairs employees with mentor/coach to ensure effective assimilation of the job.

  • Mentor/ coaches and conducts audits to ensure training is being conducted satisfactorily.

  • Acts as a change agent by encouraging positive attitudes and behaviors towards training and work duties.

  • Evaluates mentor/coach to ensure training effectiveness and correct any issues that arise.

  • Monitor the training process to determine if the new or current employee is receiving the best possible training and position based on his/her skillset.

  • Conducts and tracks Survey results of training methods.

  • Assist machine operators on all machines with setups and troubleshooting.

  • Practice and encourage safe behaviors and ensure that all safety procedures are followed.

  • Willing to work overtime on short notice.

  • Must be a team player and promote team atmosphere.



  • Able to resolve technical problems independently.

  • Able to have a working knowledge or be able to run machines in the production area.



Supervisory Responsibilities: None Yes



  • Indirect, except when filling in for the learning and development coordinator.



Qualifications:



Education/ Knowledge/ Experience:



  • High school diploma or GED equivalency required; some college preferred.

  • At least five years prior work in manufacturing environment and on production machines.


Competencies:



  • Ability to perform all requirements as written in the Production Trainer Job Description.

  • Good oral, written, presentation, interpersonal communication, and team facilitation skills to effectively interact with all levels of employees including management and internal and external customers.

  • Ability to instruct on machine operations.

  • Ability to present information accurately and effectively to diverse audiences.

  • Ability to anticipate problem areas and implement effective solutions before problems occurs.

  • Working knowledge of safety disciplines, Company specific safety policies and procedures, and common industrial safety practices.

  • Must be able to adapt and work efficiently in a fast-pace environment.

  • Must be capable of maintaining good attendance.




Language Skills:



  • Must be able to read, speak, and write English with strong interpersonal skills.

  • Basic Spanish as a second language preferred but not required.

  • Ability to communicate with people from other cultures/ countries through the use of hands, body language, translation software, pictures, videos, documentation, TM's, etc.



Computer Skills:



  • Must be capable of using a computer to write training documentation.

  • Strong Microsoft Office, Projector, Bluetooth Technology,

  • SAP & D365 Knowledge preferred but not required

  • Employee will primarily be working or training inside in a climate-controlled office environment in order to perform the essential functions of the job.

  • Employee will conduct training in a Semi-Climate controlled environment to perform job instruction on machines and auxiliary equipment.

  • May present information to small or large groups. Must be able to work in various temperatures. Move about in a manufacturing environment and surrounding property. May travel via car or airplane to various work locations. Light to moderate physical effort required.



Travel: May travel to other facilities as necessary.



Technical Experience: 2 years' experience developing or delivering training in a manufacturing environment. Experience with Training Within Industry (TWI) a plus. Must have the ability to develop, train and implement TM's (Training Modules), work process, procedures OPL's and flow documents for training and development.



Listening: Practices attentive and active listening; has the patience to hear people out; can accurately restate the opinions of others even when he/she disagrees.



Communication: Fosters a learning environment in which trainees feel comfortable taking risks without the fear of ridicule. Create open lines of communication. Trainers explain tasks and procedures clearly, listen actively and be sensitive to the importance of body language and nonverbal communication. Good communication skills is an absolute must for effective training.


Professionalism. A Lead Trainer sets the example, be mature, confident and enthusiastic. Professional language is necessary to communicate with trainees, supervision and management.


Organizing: Can marshal resources (people, funding, material, and support) to get things done; can orchestrate multiple activities at once to accomplish a goal; uses resources effectively and efficiently; arranges information and files in a useful manner.



Action-Oriented: Enjoys working hard; is action oriented and full of energy for the things he/she sees as challenging; not fearful of acting with a minimum of planning; seizes more opportunities than others.
