Temple University's Klein College of Media and Communication, recognized since its founding in 1967, for its vibrant spirit of academic innovation, fervent dedication to its students and unwavering commitment to diversity, is in search of a smart, talented, proactive Digital Manager of Technical Operations. Klein College has a rich and complex history, and its evolution is intertwined with the media history of Philadelphia, the nation's fourth-largest media market.

The Manager of Technical Operations leads support efforts for all production facilities and advanced technology areas within the Klein College of Media and Communication. These areas include the tv studios, control rooms, equipment office, Joe First media center, and emerging Klein College production spaces.

This is a front-line manager role responsible for the overall safety, security, and successful operation of production technology within the school. The Manager of Technical Operations trains Klein College faculty in protocol and use of production facilities and students on proper equipment use of studio technologies; actively supports multi-camera productions in an engineering capacity. Leads a team of technical operations student workers and provides support for studio-based Klein and Film & Media Arts (FMA) courses held in Annenberg Hall. Loads, configures, and troubleshoots all audio and video routing for a distributed control room production setup. Works with other technical operations staff to determine priority for upgrades to Klein College production technologies and facilities. Collaborates with University IT to influence design and assist with installation and maintenance of Klein College A/V systems. Provides departmental technology consultations for future portable audio and video equipment as needed. Manages multiple equipment inventories and the escalation of technical issues to appropriate staff. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree and at least three years of directly related management experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills and Abilities:

*Excellent oral and written communication skills.

*Networking knowledge specific to VoIP and AoIP delivery

*Proficiency with Mac, PC, & Linux operating systems.

*Demonstrated ability to manage technology support staff.

Preferred:

*Prior experience with broadcast signal distribution and routing systems.

*Prior experience in a college/university environment.
