SUMMARY

This role will lead product and process development and improvement projects to support the business to achieve established processing and financial targets. This position is located at our aerospace forged rings manufacturing plant in Rancho Cucamonga, California and will involve working collaboratively with Metallurgical and Design Engineers, Operations and other office personnel to improve processes in order to maintain efficiency, reduce cost, and improve quality of the product to ensure customer requirements are met.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : This is not intended as a comprehensive list; it is intended to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities. Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed, and may be required to perform additional, position-specific tasks.


  • Develop, modify, improve, and troubleshoot the dimensional processes associated with the production of seamless rolled rings and other open-die forgings.
  • Investigate and conduct experiments concerned with physical characteristics, properties, and processing of metals to develop methods of commercially manufacturing forgings from primarily Ferrous, Aluminum, Titanium and Nickel base alloys.
  • Consult with Metallurgical and Design Engineers and the Operations personnel to develop methods of manufacturing at minimum costs, and to implement robust shop floor instructions.
  • Support Continuous Improvement and Cost Reduction activities as directed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited Institution or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment or industrial environment.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Engineering degree in Metallurgical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Experience in Aerospace forging using titanium and/or nickel based super alloys
  • Experience with CAD or other 3-D design programs
  • Experience designing tools which produce reliable production of parts.
  • Able to use inspection equipment (verniers, calipers, rulers, etc.)
