Role description:

Arcadis is searching for an experienced Air Emissions Source Testing technician to support our longstanding and growing stack testing group in Hillsborough, NJ. This individual will have the opportunity to procure emissions testing projects using the solid client relationships of over 6,000 Arcadians across the U.S. who have air, soil, water, and engineering clients who provide new opportunities for stack testing on a regular basis.

Role accountabilities:


  • Adhering to all Health & Safety procedures and promoting H&S in others
  • Conduct compliance and diagnostic emissions tests (stack testing) and continuous emissions monitoring system (CEMS) audits including Relative Accuracy Test Audits (RATAs) and Cylinder Gas Audits (CGAs) at a wide variety of industrial and municipal facilities
  • Leading field stack testing programs and mentoring entry-level and junior field test crew members
  • Development of written stack test protocols
  • leading and mentoring field personnel during stack testing programs that have varying degrees of complexity
  • Correspondence with state and federal regulatory agencies
  • Maintaining and developing client base
  • Oversight and training of field staff in performing equipment maintenance
  • Evolving and developing technical capabilities of the stack testing group
Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Environmental, Biology, or related), Environmental Science, or a related EHS discipline.
  • Minimum years of experience: 4
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of USEPA Stack Test Methods (USEPA 40 CFR Part 60 Appendix A) and CEMS Regulations (USEPA 40 CFR Part 60 Appendices B and F)

  • Project Management experience (planning field equipment, operating a CEM trailer, managing technicians/clients/regulators/sub-contractors onsite, follow-up on data and samples)
  • Physically able to lift/hoist equipment weighing as much as 70 lbs.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.
  • QSTI certification (preferred)
  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER (preferred) and 8-hr OSHA annual refreshers
  • TWIC certification (preferred)
  • CMV certified (preferred)
  • Other certification in related organizations will be considered
