This position will be focusing primarily on our Reserve Power applications, which include telecommunications, IT, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), utilities and switchgear, security, emergency lighting and general electronics. Some of the reserve power brands include PowerSafe,DataSafe, and Genesis. Our extensive product range serves a variety of reserve power applications and consistently delivers the most effective, powerful and reliable batteries available.

Job Purpose

The material handler - level 3 is a skills and qualifications position reporting to a Distribution Team Leader. Individual is responsible for the shipping, receiving, picking and packaging of batteries and battery accessories. Also, top charging operations and maintenance of inventories on site. Must be able to efficiently schedule and prioritize work load without constant supervision. The material handler - level 3 will be required to meet and maintain quality and quantity levels.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Daily responsibilities include:

• Shipping LTL and TL orders


• Receiving international containers and domestic truck loads


• Picking and staging orders


• Shipping UPS


• Top charging batteries and preparing for shipment all in a safe and timely manner


• Inventory control duties such as cycle counts and other requests that may be assigned by manager or DC Coordinator


• Other duties may be assigned

Additional responsibilities include:

Ability to:

1. Two to five years of experience on various types of standup and sit down forklifts; pass proficiency skills test written and practical for forklift


2. Pass written test regarding shipping and receiving paperwork


3. Use Windows based computer to ship UPS and print customer labels


4. Utilize computerize bar code system


5. Accurately complete all paperwork associated with position


6. Cycle count for inventory purposes


7. Read and understand bill of materials, shipping and receiving documents and production orders.


8. Proficient in packaging, able to read, follow and execute packing specifications for batteries and accessories

Qualifications

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 6 months industry related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additional qualificationsinclude:

• Ability to read, speak, and comprehend English


• Ability to add, subtracts, divide, and multiply in all units of measure, using whole numbers


• Must be able to follow written instructions and understand diagrams in English.

General Job Requirements

• Must be able to frequently bend; twist; reach; stoop; kneel or crouch.
  


• Must be able to differentiate colors.
  


• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds/23 kilos on a daily continuous basis. Anything heavier will be done with the assistance of a mechanical device or with the assistance of another employee.
  


• Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  


• This position is exposed to harmful materials such as lead/fiberglass products. Periodic blood tests are required to measure the level of lead. Precautions are taken by the company/employee to reduce the risk of exposure and help ensure everyones safety.
  


• This position requires working in a plant/warehouse environment. Therefore, expect varying working conditions.
  


• Must be able and willing to work overtime.
  


• Must be able and willing to work varying schedules which may include nights, weekends, and public holidays.
  


• Must be able and willing to operate a forklift.
