Job Title: ​Head of Air Export
Job Location: Chicago, IL

We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Air Export, ORD to implement and led Chicago’s Air Freight Export strategy, product portfolio, processes and procurement in accordance with the overall strategy of the Business Division, with the objective of achieving optimum profitability and effective use of business assets and human resources.

This position will be based at our Chicago, IL location reporting to the Station Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implements local airfreight export strategy (products, preferred carriers, market penetration, target’s etc.), including local carrier relationship management, and procurement for non-preferred carriers


• Defines and enhances the operational setup in collaboration and agreement with Central Region AFR Head


• Establishes operational framework for ORD based on regional and global standardization of processes, benchmark and regulatory compliance


• Collaborate and ensure proper management and cross-team effectiveness of the hub operations within ORD


• Manages oversight and engagement within ORD for all air bids including pricing strategy and related local procurement


• Processes local market intelligence, KPI’s and statistical data in collaboration with the Central Region AFR Head


• Responsible for hiring, coaching, training, and developing direct reports. 


• Assigns work, sets completion dates, reviews work, and manages performance in accordance with organizational policies, procedures and performance management processes

Skills / Requirements:

• 7+ years' experience of leadership with Air Freight Forwarding and Exports required


• Cargowise system experience a plus


• BA/BS in related field required, MA/MS is a plus


• Experience working in a Unionized environment a plus


• Experience driving high performance and meeting or exceeding product / financial KPIs


• Demonstrated leadership experience managing large teams
