As a Recreation Attendant, you will be promoting the resort-s recreation activities and facilities to both children and adults (e.g., trivia contests, pool and outdoor games, and educational programs from food/beverage tastings to local storytelling). Your responsibilities will also include, but are not limited to, encouraging and registering guests for activities, maintaining equipment and facilitating activities. To ensure we are providing the best services to our guests, as a Recreation Attendant, your duties will entail interacting with guests with an engaging and friendly attitude.
High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred in the area of Hospitality, Recreation, Wellness, or related field.
Responsible for the overall safety/wellbeing of kids on-site or throughout the resort.
Provide guidance during educational programs and keep kids on task and behaving appropriately.
Attend all staff orientations/meetings, parent orientations and training sessions
Be knowledgeable of daily/weekly activities.
Anticipate and willingly participate in designated duties such as activity materials and equipment set-up and breakdown, classroom set-up and clean-up, team-building exercises, parents programs, etc.
Maintain supplies and equipment inventory.
Have an understanding of all aspects of the risk management plan including, but not limited to, site inspections, emergency action plans, and crisis management training.
Be aware of any and all safety concerns and always be prepared for an emergency situation. Conduct regular facility, site, and equipment safety checks and inform the staff of any concerns. Report any potential dangers to the Recreation Manager such as facility, equipment, activities, and other hazards.
Ensure that all reports of the day’s activities and emergencies are recorded accurately and submit reports to Recreation Manager.
Supervise kids and stay with assigned group at all times including lunch, rest periods.
It is your responsibility to put sun block on all your kids when appropriate.
Implement all incentive and disciplinary policies and procedures.
Maintain all policies and procedures set by Playa Largo Resort and Spa.
