Position Description:

Exelixis has newly formed the Digital Transformation (DT) function to effectively support Exelixis's rapid growth expected in the next 3 to 5 years. DT will introduce relevant technology products to help business functions in process simplification, automation, and data-driven decision-making. In addition, DT products will aid in sustaining both the organic and inorganic growth of Exelixis, increasing the operational complexity of additional product launches, indications, capabilities, and geographies.

The Director, PSC & Mfg is a crucial position in the DT Organization. This position will be responsible for understanding BU/Customer needs, providing thought leadership around best-in-class planning practices, external benchmarking, and creating and implementing a 3-year enterprise capability roadmap.

Functional accountability includes partnering with the related business units and building service and tool portfolios to drive business growth. This position requires the techno-functional background to understand our solutions and communicate status, issues, mitigate risks, and support the functional area across all stakeholders to deliver successfully. Additionally, being able to work collaboratively with the business in driving operational excellence and efficiency is essential.

Position Requirements:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Works with external consultants, internal partners, and senior leaders to influence the overall ERP strategy.
• Market Sensing: Obtain insightful and holistic signals of deeper business needs from Customers, BUs, and Supply Chain functions, to drive integrated and coordinated decisions that close the most crucial business gaps strategically. Stay apprised of the business environment industry and technology trends, and the competitive landscape.
• Develop a baseline of current enterprise processes, compare with best-in-class practices, sensing, business needs, and own definition of a multiple-year ERP capability roadmap.
• Assist in the development of annual Enterprise Supply Planning budgets that supports the defined strategy, including building the case for action, using agreed channels to secure funding in collaboration with key business partners, IT, Finance
• Foster cross-functional collaboration with Commercial, Finance, Clinical, and QA. Connect the dots along the value chain through process redesign, measurement, orchestration, and digitalization. As a result, reduce waste and complexity and drive down cost.
• Work cross-functionally with the Master Data Management team to ensure business processes and technologies have reliable and current data.
• Support business functions with standardized documentation for cross-functional processes; develop training and learning content and critical indicators of process health.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Coach and mentor team members, playing an active role in their professional growth and development
• Supervise, hire, train, and provide work direction
• Oversee the daily operations of other staff.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

Education:
• Undergraduate degree and 12+ years relevant experience, or
• Graduate degree and 10+ years relevant experience.

Experience:
• 7+ years of pharma industry experience with no less than five years of that experience focused on management and leadership roles in supply chain functions.
• 10+ years experience in an SAP-centric Supply Chain environment demonstrating highly competent abilities in standard SDLC, Agile, and project management techniques and methodologies.
• 5+ years leadership experience

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
• Experience in SAP S/4 HANA.
o Thorough Understanding of PTP, OTC, and Inventory Management
o SAP IBP/Kinaxis or similar planning and forecasting tool
o Sound knowledge of SAP Finance
o SAP QM, Fiori, EDI, Reporting experience
• Experience in architecting control towers/dashboards will be essential for this role
• Experience in standardizing solution designs for supply planning, define future state capability roadmap and turn capability roadmap into action.
• Derive Solutions to complex business problems by blending analysis, business process knowledge, and technology, creating solutions that drive real business value for the supply chain.
• Understand business objectives, research, and provide guidance, options, and proof of concepts (if appropriate) to solve business technology needs.
• Maintain a working knowledge of current and emerging technologies/capabilities in the Supply Chain area.
• Utilize proper testing and documentation techniques to ensure successful delivery of project and support work.
• Prepare and audit Functional Specifications, Documentation, and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Document and coordinate project go-live activities and provide post-project hyper care support.
• Experience with system management processes, business requirements gathering, solution design and configuration, and user acceptance testing.
• Experience creating business process diagrams, including business process procedures as necessary
• Strong active listening skills and the ability to translate needs, concerns and solutions across functional and stakeholder groups.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
• Highly self-motivated, self-directed, and attentive to detail. Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills.
