The Front-End Engineer - Digital Technology is responsible for the day-to-day design and deliver new features and user experiences for Dine Brands' guest-facing digital channels on Sitecore/.Net framework, including IHOP.com and Applebees.com. The Engineer will play a key role in developing innovative UI/UX flows for supporting development of digital features and functionality and collaborating with internal resources and outside agencies to create engaging and compelling digital solutions.
The Engineer reports directly to the Senior Manager of Digital Engineering and Development and is responsible for designing and implementing robust single page and traditional MVC applications on the .net and Sitecore/MVC platforms, while conforming to standards-based development - single use theory, dependency injection, etc. Also, the Engineer will need to have experience in developing micro-services, APIs and exposure/knowledge Sitecore CMS.
A Day In The Life
Work through current sprint cycle to deliver standards based Sitecore MVC solutions and Data Templates. Test-driven development will be used daily to ensure quality delivery of code and solutions.
Growth: Continuous education though company sponsored and self-education on latest tools and technologies. While this engineer will focus on UI/UX ADA compliant development in .NET, there will be opportunities to develop solutions on many platforms and technologies, including SPA, headless CMS, interact with integration platform. Drive the evolution of the team by introducing and championing new technologies and platforms.
Process Minded: Follow the SDLC and Agile methodologies through use of tools such as Jira, GitHub, Jenkins, and Chef. Consistently utilize and adhere to security (OWASP) and accessibility (WCAG) frameworks and guidelines. Effectively engage and align with enterprise infrastructure, security, and architecture teams.
Problem Solving: Ability to process and solve both short term and long term digital challenges. Recommend technical solutions and alternatives.

Experience & Qualifications
Minimum 4 years of technical experience developing robust applications with ASP.NET MVC
At least 2+ years of experience with React.js and/or Next.js
Strong knowledge interfacing with RESTful API Endpoints and asynchronous operations
Strong knowledge with HTML5/CSS3/SCSS/JS, DOM manipulation and git
Strong knowledge of CSS/Front-end frameworks like Bootstrap, Material UI, Tailwind
Deep interest and understanding of user interface design and optimizing user experience
Ability to triage problems, prioritize accordingly, and resolve
Ability to work independently with minimal interactions
Experience working in an Agile environment (e.g., Scrum, Kanban)
Clear and concise communication skill
Team player who is willing to problem solve with others
Self-motivated to deliver high quality products
Knowledge of CI/CD practices is a plus
Sitecore, Sitefinity, Umbraco, Kentico , Episerver or others.
