The Regulatory Trainer is an hourly position responsible for the delivery and evaluation of training solutions that support regulatory compliance, as well as the ongoing growth and development of employees, within Northeastern PA IDD programs. This includes, but is not limited to, training delivery and facilitation, adhering to training processes and procedures, supporting accurate documentation of employee training, and assisting with the execution of corporate education initiatives. The Trainer provides a vital link between the direct care staff and program administration to support the delivery of quality service to the individuals we support. A commitment to the RHD values should be demonstrated as job duties are performed.
Hours of work are typically 830am-430pm, Monday-Friday. However, the Regulatory Trainer must be flexible and available to work nights and weekends when necessary or asked to do so.
Responsibilities/Duties
Primary Duties
Facilitate classes to train all staff in the designated programs.
Use adult learning principles and interactivity to effectively engage learners with the subject matter being covered
Employ a Trauma-Informed approach to facilitation of training
Model RHD values when engaging with staff, management, and individuals we support
Provide feedback to the Regulatory Training Coordinator and program management regarding new employees' performance in New Hire Orientation
Maintain trainer certifications for: RHD's Crisis Prevention and Intervention, PA State Medication Administration, and CPR/First Aid.
Develop and maintain a working knowledge of ODP training requirements.
Ensure classroom safety, comfort, and cleanliness.
Organize training manuals, multimedia visual aids, and other educational materials.
Provide onsite training at various program locations as needed
Supporting Duties
Support the Regulatory Training Coordinator in monitoring and maintaining staff training records, and scheduling additional trainers needed for delivery of the New Hire Orientation program
Coordinate with the Regulatory Training Coordinator to conduct ongoing technical training and personal development for staff.
Collaborate with Corporate Training and Education team to implement assessment tools for measuring transfer and retention of knowledge and skill after training completion.
Communicate any training needs to the Regulatory Training Coordinator and management for curriculum improvement.
Complete all other tasks as assigned by management.
Required Experience
1-3 years of experience in a Human Services environment preferred.
Comfortable facilitating training for large groups (up to 20 people)
Minimum of 1 of year experience delivering training environment and knowledge of adult learning principles.
Required Qualifications
Ability to quickly learn new systems and tools
Ability to travel to local program sites as needed to deliver training
Intermediate skill level in computer usage in various applications, including MS Office.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, self-awareness and emotional intelligence.
High level of cultural competence and commitment to being Trauma-Informed
Ability to react quickly and appropriately to fast paced, changing work environments.
Ability to work independently and take initiative.
Maintain an open and approachable demeanor and provide excellent service to internal clients, employees, stakeholders and external partners.
Possess and maintain a valid driver's license
State Police clearance and/or FBI clearance, if necessary
