Position Description:
Micro-Poise Measurement Systems a business unit of AMETEK is seeking a Shift Supervisor for our Streetsboro, Ohio facility. The qualified candidate will lead and direct the hourly workforce in building capital machinery for the tire and automotive industry.

•Supervise and coordinate production including Paint and Loadwheel areas and give the emphasis required to quality and labor productivity

•Assist Shop Floor Technicians with start-up issues, identifying areas of opportunity to improve productivity in such area

•Prepare work schedules, assign work, and follow up execution

•Maintain operations data, such as time, production, productivity, and cost records, and prepare management reports as required by Operations and Finance

•Ensure plant equipment maintenance work is performed in timely manner

•Gather rework information on production floor, identify root cause, develop action plan along with Quality Manager and execute actions for rework elimination accordingly

•Consult with management and subordinates to resolve personnel issues/grievances

•Complete safety related checks on equipment and ensure activities are performed per EHS compliance calendar as well as provide records of such activities to EHS leader

•Enforce EHS regulations

•Support incident investigation in coordination with EHS leader

•Support quality audits to detect defects, malfunctions or out of spec products/assemblies

•Follow up material shortages with Supply Chain department

•Ensure on time material replenishment of Load Wheel and Paint areas

Position Requirements:
•A minimum of 3 to 5 years of supervisory experience in a build to order manufacturing environment

•Technical degree in an Engineering Field or Electro/Mechanical background

•Excellent planning and organizational skills, methodical and detail oriented

•Ability to plan and organize work developing and using a structured approach

•Must be familiar with creating, using, and manipulating production schedules

•Must be able to review and re-evaluate performance to production schedules and make suitable recommendations to achieve plans

•Proficient PC skills in the use of MS Excel, MS Project and MS Access

•Ability to read engineering drawings

•Detail oriented

•Experience working in a capital equipment assembly environment supporting the automotive and tire industries is a plus

•Fourth Shift or Navision experience a plus

•Kronos experience a plus

•Must be well versed in cellular, in-line manufacturing, Kanban, team building, lean manufacturing and have the desire to lead a self-empowered workforce, knowledge of quality systems including ISO-9000, ISO-14000.
