POSITION OBJECTIVES:
While partnering with various COEIs and local HR Teams, accountable for all HR outcomes within the USBU’s Gastroenterology (GI) Business Unit including people experience, talent management, talent acquisition, organization effectiveness, learning & development, total rewards, labor & employee relations, planning & insights.
Trusted member, and key contributor, of the US Business Unit HR Leadership Team and Takeda’s Global HR Function, sets a strategic agenda and directs its global deployment; deep understanding of the function, external dynamics & trends, and customer needs
Leads a team of HR Business Partners, ensuring HR capabilities are nurtured and elevated across the function
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Deliver best-in-class people experience, talent management, organization effectiveness, learning & development, total rewards, labor & employee relations, planning & insights
Set a short- and long-term people agenda for the GIBU, shaping Leadership Team thinking and direction
Drive Leadership Team effectiveness, while supporting individual development and elevating the team’s performance
Develop, deploy and embed talent management and learning programs within the GIBU. Foster a culture of continuous learning.
Drive organization effectiveness (OE), proactively set an OE agenda that spans mindset, process, role and org design, capabilities and measurement/KPIs
Steward of employee experience. Ensure ongoing feedback loops and multi-way dialogue between employees, COEs, Takeda Business Solutions (TBS), etc. Develop and deploy strategies to create a distinctive employee experience e.g. inclusion, engagement
Oversee cyclical processes such as succession/talent planning, performance management and compensation
Ensure talent acquisition and total rewards practices are competitive and aligned with the Function’s needs
Manage labor and employee relations within Function. Mitigate risk for company, ensure objectivity, consistency, sound judgment and compliance
Deliver high quality people insights. Course correct as required and inspire step change solutions for the Function.
Engage in collaborative relationships with COEs, LOC/BU HR, TBS HR Services and other Functions like Finance, Ethics & Compliance, Corp Communications and Legal. Partner to create solutions that make an impact when deployed and embedded within the Function.
As part of the USBU HR Leadership team, help shape the overall strategy for the BU and Global HR. Identify patterns and root cause solutions that are best for the business and enterprise.
Build a best-in-class (direct and indirect) HR Team. Create an environment which inspires people to do their best and is aligned to the Company’s values. Elevate HR capabilities.
Lead and participate in Global HR projects as required. Apply knowledge of how Function works and contemporary external best practices to co-create enterprise solutions that deliver results.
EDUCATION, BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
Bachelor’s degree required
10 + years HR experience, in lieu of HR experience will consider equivalent experience in a sr. Leadership position with broad management responsibilities
Minimum of 7 years management of direct and indirect teams required
Experience working in pharmaceutical industry and/or supporting a complex global organization undergoing transformation is preferred
Strategy - Exceptional ability to set an agenda aligned to a Function’s objectives, deploy it and deliver results
Organization Effectiveness – demonstrated success developing and implementing programs that measurably improve business performance
Skilled Coach and Motivator– fosters the professional growth of others through knowledge sharing, professional and personal counselling, personal attention and effort
Industry and HR Knowledge – understands the pharmaceutical industry and Corporate functions. Curious and up to date on current and possible future trends related to broad spectrum of human resources practices. Solid understanding of global laws, government regulations and work/ councils/unions
Communication – ability to communicate ideas and data both verbally and written in a persuasive and appropriate manner
Analytical Skills – ability to identify the critical issues of problems or opportunities and determine possible solutions
A tactician; one who knows how to develop plans, as well as deliver the expected results from the plans
Collaborative “team player”
Consensus builder – comfortable with multiple points of view yet can effectively lead a group to the best business decision
Self-motivated/self-starter
Very comfortable interfacing with all levels of the organization

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Willingness to travel to various meetings or client sites, including overnight trips
International travel may be required with an estimated 30% overall travel
