Job Description:

Day Porter- Full - Time – 1st shift – High Point, NC

Hours: Monday - Friday 7:30a-4:00p, 30 minute lunch break

Requirements:None needed - we will train you!

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Patrols: restrooms, hallways, lobbies, elevators, break rooms, and other areas for any cleaning or stocking needed.

- Sweeps, mops, vacuums any areas only open during the day.

- Spot clean walls, windows, water fountains, door panels, ledges, and window sills.

- Respond to any cleaning emergencies during the day.

- Empty wastebaskets as needed and transport trash to the disposal area.

- Reports any malfunctions and maintenance problems to the supervisor. Discusses work problems and/or schedule problems with supervisors and/or management.

- Provides assistance with outside cleaning, sweeping sidewalks, and picking up trash.

- May be required to lock and/or unlock doors at the appropriate times daily.

Physical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with arms and hands. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to talk or hear. The employee must be able to lift/move up to 45 pounds.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE No prior experience or training is required..

REASONING ABILITY - Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions: to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to learn basic principles and techniques. Also, the ability to perceive identification numbers marked on material: to read and understand numbers and volumes.
