The Quality Engineer reports to Quality Manager and is responsible for overseeing the quality of parts produced on the line, devising corrective actions to address quality issues, and rolling out corrective actions to the larger team.
Main Areas of Responsibility:
Maintaining records of all scrapped parts and reviewing and alerting for any trends
Addressing quality issues on the line and troubleshooting issues; follow up with the customer as necessary
Conducting capability analysis upon customer request
Developing and documenting inspection work instructions
Managing corrective actions and conducting multidisciplinary team root cause investigation for internal problems and customer complaints
Acting as subject matter expert on PFMEA, MSA, SPC and PPAP

Education/Credentials/Certifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field
Six Sigma Certification is a plus
Length of Experience
At least 2-3 years of hands-on experience related to forging/machining processes, manufacturing, and quality
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Understanding of forging and machining processes
Strong statistical knowledge and data analysis ability
Customer relations ability
Ability to calculate tolerances, CPK, and metric conversions
Excellent reasoning and problem solving ability
Understanding of quality systems and IATF standards a plus
Experience using Minitab or other statistical software
