Your responsibilities

As a Production Planner, you are responsible for the production planning of all lines in accordance with the customer demands. This includes coordinating production workflow for multiple products, planning, and prioritizing operations to ensure maximum performance with minimal delays. This position requires a strong commitment to safety.

Your profile

The Production Planner serves as an engaged and trusted source in the organization. Success in this role is measured by a reduction in cost, improving productivity and customer delivery ratings. Key deliverables to ensure success are listed below:


  • Logistics key customer service contact for automotive customer base.

  • Provides excellent customer service including, but not limited to follow up on release schedules over contractual maximum per week, on-time delivery concerns, production concerns affecting deliveries, etc. as needed.

  • Maintains daily bill of materials inventory summary.

  • Maintains daily shipment forecast file.

  • Maintains daily production backlog and productivity summary.

  • Oversees customer invoicing as needed.

  • Oversees aftermarket (service) accounts.

  • Plans production using Orsoft and various SAP transactions.

  • Monitors and adjusts production plans daily to ensure all operations are protected.

  • Enters independent requirements for long range forecasting.

  • Maintains stock levels in accordance to the assigned min/max safety stock levels and level load cadence.

  • Supports schedules for PM activities, program management, engineering, quality and other departments who require logistics cooperation.

  • Responsible to receive and coordinate all production interruption requests.

  • Communicates efficiently with other departments, customers, and vendors with effective problem identification and resolution skills.

  • Collaborate on cross functional daily S2QDC team as logistics teammate.

  • Travel to Customer as required.

  • Attend all required customer trainings.

  • Back up support for all Logistics required activities on customer sites and customer key tasks (i.e. DDL answer screens).

  • Must be skilled with various computer programs including, but not limited to MS office, SAP and email systems.

  • Backs up the duties of the Transportation Planner.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, a successful candidate will be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.



  • Education: Associates degree (A.S.) with an emphasis in business and/or supply chain or 3 years relevant experience in Logistics or Supply Chain. Demonstrated abilities in the areas of: planning/scheduling skills, excellent communication skills and some computer competency. Should have a repetitive manufacturing background within an automated environment.


  • Language: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.


  • Technology: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of SAP Integrated Business software. Use of Microsoft Office Suites software and Microsoft Explorer browser in a windows operating system.


  • Travel: Occasional travel, up to 10% including international
