About this position:
This role is accountable for shaping T. Rowe Price’s IT spend through the execution of leading category management and strategic sourcing practices. The role partners closely with senior executives in the IT functions at T. Rowe Price, along with T. Rowe Price’s IT vendors, to reduce the cost of supply, meet business requirements, innovate, and achieve revenue goals.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for a major category within a technology or non-technology/corporate strategic spend (approximately $130 million spend or more), encompassing an IT category. Owns global spend and relationships across the major category. Partners with business units and T. Rowe Price to identify potential new sourcing relationships based on business processes and future state strategies.
Owns spend and supplier relationships for assigned category. Partners with sourcing leadership to develop long-term savings strategies for the category and/or suppliers.
Reviews due diligence reviews, assessments and vendor scorecards along with research done by more junior staff to evaluate potential and existing suppliers to assist in the development of a sourcing strategy.
Applies in-depth understanding of the marketplace and vendors as well as market trends and best practices across the overall category. Oversees contracts for assigned category that are typically complex, global and cross-business unit.
Typical Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent of combination of education and relevant experience AND 8+years of total relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to unify teams around a strategy that is focused on service and stewardship mandates
Strategic decision making in alignment with senior management direction
International procurement management experience
Proven track record of IT sourcing and category management experience
Prior financial services or consulting experience
Strong procurement negotiation skills
Excellent communication skills
Solid understanding of international procurement trends
Working knowledge of business law and data protection regulations
Ability to accurately interpret contract documents
Prior experience with procurement technology platforms, such as central intake, contract lifecycle management and request to pay systems
Professional experience with technical writing, including the ability to redline and compare documents using MS Word
Prior experience with central intake, contract lifecycle management, request to pay and spend analytics systems
Professional international procurement certifications, such as those from the International Purchasing and Supply Chain Institute
