Role Summary:

Requires specialized knowledge and expertise in their own job discipline and deep experience in integrating related disciplinary knowledge. Leads disciplinary or cross-functional program of notable risk; uses sophisticated analytical thought to identify innovative solutions. Accountable for work of self and others; sets standards around which others will operate. Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations. Acts as advisor to management and key external stakeholders on broad-ranging projects. Works with senior management to ensure compliance with tax regulations. Assigned tax activities are highly complex. Demonstrates extensive knowledge of tax best practices and a specialized understanding of the end-to-end tax processes and has a conceptual understanding of which tools and systems are used in resolving associated issues. Advises and guides less experienced professionals and may direct their work.

Responsibilities:

Ensures tax financial disclosure is in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. In partnership with management, establishes the organization's tax strategy and is accountable for ensuring the implementation of that strategy in a way that minimizes tax liability and alleviates or reduces tax burden while minimizing global regulatory and audit risk. Leverages highly complex tax techniques to achieve business objectives. Performs the research, analysis, and interpretation of tax laws and cases to provide management with recommendations and opinions by applying tax concepts. Works directly with inside and outside counsel to develop tax planning strategies and tax return filing positions. Prepares tax provision forecasts and all applicable tax provisions. Uses existing strategic relationships to influence at all levels of the organization. Liaises with lines of businesses and reporting vendors to ensure proper reporting of tax information. Responsible for providing guidance to junior team members to improve their performance.

Typical Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration and 8+ years of total relevant work experience.

• Strong Excel skills




• Effective written and oral communication skills




• Excellent attention to detail




• Strong federal income tax compliance and tax accounting experience




• Experience with Oracle Tax Reporting Cloud (tax provision system) and Oracle Cloud Financials (ERP system)




• Experience in partnering successfully with IT on delivering system solutions and enhancements




• Understanding of large-scale data mining and project reporting tools (Alteryx)




• CPA candidate strongly preferred
