LMI is seeking a skilled Operations Research & Systems Analyst working partially remotely and partially from a client site in Crystal City, VA. In this role, you will analyze data for actionable insight and develop custom software solutions to address client problems.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include:

    Apply models, simulations, and operations research techniques to support customer processes and decision-making.
  • Review and optimize system performance.

  • Perform data analysis using databases, modeling, simulation, and other analytical tools.

  • Participate in ongoing research to identify, develop, evaluate, and apply new concepts in process automation.

  • Develop, test, and document software to model complex systems.

  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a solutions-oriented environment focused on client deliverables and analysis.

  • Communicate with clients through written reports and oral presentations.

  • Interpret and develop data visualizations of simulation output to clearly convey findings.

  • Frame and scale problems to effectively analyze, visualize and find solutions to complex decision problems.

  • Demonstrate the ability to frame and scale data problems to effectively analyze, visualize and find data solutions.

  • Possess the ability to work with and manipulate common data formats, including comma-delimited, text files, and JSON.

  • Transform data and analysis into informative data visualizations and/or interactive dashboards using open source and commercially available visualization and dashboard tools.

  • Demonstrate the ability to derive insights and analytic narratives from data and visualizations for effective storytelling and clear communication in response to specific research questions.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, solutions oriented environment focused on client deliverables, analysis and reporting.
    Possess the ability to work in teams and independently.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor's degree in data science, mathematics, statistics, economics, computer science, engineering, or other related business or quantitative discipline is required.

  • 5-12 years of experience performing related responsibilities and duties

  • 5-12 yesrs of experience formulating and applying mathematical modeling and other optimizing methods to develop and interpret information that assists management with decision making, policy formulation, or other managerial functions.

  • Experience working with tools including object-oriented programming (Python, Java), computational analysis tools (R, MATLAB), and associated data science libraries (scikit-learn).

  • Experience creating meaningful data visualizations and/or interactive dashboards that communicate your findings and relate them back to how your insights create business impact using platforms such as Tableau, Qlik, Power BI, RShiny, plotly, and d3.js.

  • Working knowledge of databases and SQL is desired. Preferred qualifications include linking analytic and data visualization products to database connections.

  • Preferred experience with data science methods related to data architecture, data munging, data and feature engineering, and predictive analytics.

  • Additional preferred qualifications include working with unstructured text and natural language processing.

  • Superior communication skills, both oral and written

  • This position requires an active security clearance at the Secret level. You must be a US citizen.

DESIRED SKILLS


  • Master's degree or higher.

  • Previous DOD experience.
