Works with a high mechanical aptitude and experience as a mechanic. Must have organizational skills.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - TRANSPORTATION

Coordinates the daily check lists and Preventive maintenance for all equipment.
Works with the Assistant Plant Manager and Plant Supervisor to keep things updated.
Works with the Assistant Plant Manager to purchase parts and supplies necessary to complete repairs and meet DOT, environmental, ISO, and Safety standards.
Responsible for keeping track and filing all related records and documentation.
Helps develop metrics for the department and the people in the department.
Maintains a clean and orderly assigned work area.
Must be able to lead and track a safety program for the work area.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:

Responsible for routine maintenance on equipment such as Forklifts, Skid Steers and Baler.
Responsible for any in house mechanical issues regarding to equipment.
Will be expected to do other tasks as assigned by the Assistant Plant Manager.
Will work as a laborer on the floor when maintenance issues are all complete.
May be responsible for repairing trailers as necessary

QUALIFICATIONS:

Three to five years experience in maintenance.
Must have a demonstrated knowledge of general mechanics and truck repair.
Must be able to correctly use all equipment required to complete repair work.
High school diploma or equivalent or trade school equivalent in a related field.
Must be able to interpret written instructions and write brief reports.
