Position Title: Division Sales Tax Lead

• Long Beach, CA


• Regular Business Hours, Monday - Friday

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

The Accounting Supervisor's major areas of responsibility will include: financial accounting, reporting, including month-end close procedures, general ledger account analyses, reconciliations, preparation/posting of journal entries, technical accounting research, analyses, reporting, internal reporting requests related to Division, Regional branches, Corporate, fulfilling requests related to internal/external audit procedures and all other ad hoc analyses or special project services.

The supervisory aspect of the position includes: the direct supervision of the accounting team while providing leadership, mentoring, involvement in the hiring of staff, and overall maintenance of staff workload. In order to monitor staff workload this leadership position must anticipate or forecast department projects that include seasonal or unusually high volumes of work in order to meet deadlines.

In particular, you will:

• Implements month-end procedures and reporting requirements, including the generation of reports and the preparation and posting of journal entries.


• Manage accurate financial and statistical close processes including general ledger account reconciliations and other analyses within established timelines.


• Supervise and develop the staff through performance evaluation goal-setting, positive feedback, discipline, and on-going coaching.


• Develop and direct the preparation and communication of ad hoc accounting reports and analysis.


• Keeps current on all initiatives related to financial cost savings and potential fraud avoidance.


• Creates and distributes financial reports according to schedule or as needed for both external and internal auditors.


• Adhoc reporting for executive management and special projects and other duties as assigned.


• Lead ongoing enhancements to accounting and reporting processes by leveraging systems and reporting tools to drive those enhancements.


• Maintain internal accounting controls that are consistent with Company requirements/Sarbanes-Oxley/IFRS.


• This position must be able to build effective relationships with all levels of associates within the organization.


• Ensures compliance with the Company's financial policies/procedures and other matters related to compliance such as: asset control, unclaimed property, etc.

Are you a MATCH?

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field; MBA and/or CPA a plus.

• Minimum of four years financial reporting / financial accounting experience, public accounting experience and exposure to medium-to-large companies a plus.


• Minimum three years supervisor level accounting and financial reporting experience in positions of increasing responsibility.


• Management experience with solid leadership qualities including team management and people development skills.


• Advanced experience with SAP software


• Strong mathematical aptitude.


• Skilled project management, staff mentoring and employee development skills required.
