As the Director of Claims Processing, this position will provide strategic direction and leadership to the claims processing organization across multiple locations. This position is responsible for setting and overseeing the achievement of performance objectives and established service level goals for DeltaCare, DDIC, DDP ad DDC. In addition to general operations, this leader may be asked to lead or support enterprise-wide or segment-specific initiatives.

How you will make an impact:


  • Directs the activities of Claims Processing staff through department managers; determines staffing needs, sets goals, interviews, selects, coaches, trains and evaluates the performance of all direct reports.

  • Leads, supports and collaborates with others to evaluate and implement enterprise-wide initiatives.

  • Develops annual department and project budgets; identifies variances and takes corrective actions as appropriate.

  • Reviews large, high-profile or complex requests and provides claims recommendations to upper management; approves significant claims concessions.

  • Advises and provides guidance to internal and external customers.

  • Performs strategic planning, including enterprise business alignment activities.

  • Prepares and presents documents to support claims decisions to internal and external customers.

  • In collaboration with management team, continuously assesses department for operational inefficiencies or areas for improvement; develops and communicates changes in policies, guidelines, departmental and corporate objectives as needed.

What we look for:


  • 12+ years w/Bachelor's degree; 3+ years management.

  • Lean Six Sigma Certification - IASSC, Green Belt or Black Belt Certification Preferred.

  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) - PMI, Preferred.

  • Operational experience within a union environment preferred.

  • Extensive knowledge of health care industry, dental procedures codes and nomenclature, and claims processing concepts and related technology.

  • Excellent organizational and time management, including the ability to multitask.

  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills to identify and evaluate business solutions.

  • Strong management skills to effectively manage division activities enterprise-wide.

  • Demonstrated skills and experience with developing a high performance culture and work environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with all levels of the leadership, including C-Suite.

  • Ability to influence others at all levels of the organization.

  • Demonstrated excellence in communication and negotiation, especially in complex settings and in a cross-cultural environment.

  • Demonstrated skill in problem analysis and problem resolution at the functional and strategic level.
