Duties and Responsibilities Overview: The Regional Director of Primary Care is responsible for providing clinical oversight for
primary care physicians and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) across the Loyola Medicine ambulatory
network (including immediate care). The regional director serves as the physician leader for the primary
care ambulatory medical directors and senior medical directors throughout Loyola Medicine. In
collaboration with the VP Ambulatory, the regional director works with the medical group and
ambulatory network leadership teams to achieve Loyola Medicine organizational goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with the VP Ambulatory to deliver quality care in an environment which is respectful and satisfying for health care professionals and patients. Cultivates a team based culture throughout all primary care and immediate care practice sites.

  • Leads implementation and maintenance of a collaborative group practice throughout the primary care network including acute patient care needs, coverage for vacation/leave, in-basket management and paperwork.

  • In conjunction with assigned administrative leadership, achieve Loyola Medicine and Trinity Health ambulatory patient experience goals (quality, patient satisfaction, and patient safety).

  • In conjunction with assigned administrative leadership, manage performance improvement projects and efficient clinical operations of primary care and immediate care clinics including attainment of budgeted volumes, wRVUs, units of service, labor productivity, and contribution margin.

  • In conjunction with assigned administrative leadership, lead implementation of the Trinity Health Leadership System (THLS) and actively participate in Tier 3 huddles.

  • In conjunction with assigned administrative leadership, attain Loyola Medicine Priority Strategic Aim Organizational Goals (PSAs).

  • Actively participate in and help co-lead the scheduled Ambulatory Medical Directors meeting including distribution/sharing of ambulatory projects across the entire ambulatory network and participation in system-wide initiatives.

  • Provide physician leadership for clinicians working within primary care and immediate care including management of physician/APP clinical productivity.

  • Leads identification and development of future physician leaders in primary care and immediate care with goal to develop a pipeline of internal leaders who are skilled in problem solving, change management, conflict resolution, team development, and leading healthcare transformation.

  • Ensure adherence to regulatory and accreditation standards of the Joint Commission and ambulatory operation policies.

  • Assist in execution of Together Care launch and ongoing IT initiatives for Loyola Medicine and Trinity Health.

  • Participate in ambulatory strategic planning and network development as requested by MG and ambulatory leadership teams.

  • Participate in revenue excellence and access initiatives as requested by MG and ambulatory leadership teams.
